Publisher's summary

Someone has a secret. A secret worth killing for....

When a series of suicides, linked to the Wellness Spirit Centre, turn out to be murder, it brings together DCI Whitney Walker and forensic psychologist Dr Georgina Cavendish for another investigation. But as they delve deeper, they come across a tangle of secrets and the very real risk that the killer will strike again.

As the clock ticks down, the only way forward is to infiltrate the centre. But the outcome is disastrous, in more ways than one.

For fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and M A Comley, Lethal Secret is the fourth book in the Cavendish & Walker crime fiction series.

Includes a special bonus note from the author.

Critic reviews

"Narrator Clare Corbett flawlessly creates the accents and setting of Lenchester, England, while introducing Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker and her polar opposite, psychologist Georgina Cavendish.... Corbett's best creation is pathologist Clare Dexter whose eccentricities add a bit of levity. The well-rendered step-by-step procedural, with its gripping conclusion, makes for an exceptional listen." (AudioFile Magazine, review of Cavendish & Walker)

Fabulous Narrator

Clare Corbett has got to be the most creative, diverse and all encompassing narrator out there. Her range in voice diversity both male and female provide complexity to the characters. Smashing job

Enjoyable, but victim of a common flaw

I have enjoyed the four books although sometimes they act really dumb.
However, as an avid reader of detective novels, the fourth book falls into a basic trap that have befallen so many others.
The murderer needs to have an active pary in the development of the plot and not just be there just as the role of the murderer.
In this book, if you took out the character who was the killer it would have made no difference to the Story.
He was just an extraneous character who was only stuck in to be the killer. The character was never developed and it was a dead certainty his only role in the book was to be the murderer.

Great story

Well thought out story. Characters are very believable. I like how there is more to the story than just the main plot. I’ve enjoyed following the characters home life.

Cavendish and Walker: A welcome “audiction”

I attempted to listen to Book 3, “Death Track.” Unfortunately, there were audio problems in starting this book (I will try again). I then began Book 4, “Lethal Secret.” Once again, Cavendish and Walker work well together during an intense search for another serial killer. Two very different women, it is interesting to listen to their comical banter as they form a quirky and endearing bond. Again, I was thrilled to get this one in the Audible Plus section for no charge. Clare Corbett has become a new favorite narrator. Sally Rigby pens an intensely suspenseful and exhilarating novel. I will be checking for more from this literary duo. The audiobooks in this series is definitely worth credits or cash purchase. I do not use credits for lower priced books. Kudos to Rigby and Corbett, as well as an awesome thank you to Audible! Highly recommended and I look forward to more adventures from Cavendish and Walker.
NOTE: Author Rigby speaks at the end of this book. She explains more of the ending of Book 1, “Deadly Games.”

love this series but?

This is the forth book in the series Cavendish and Walker, and my least favorite so far. The ending was weak and too abrupt, the first suspect was the perp and confessed right away. However, it didn't take away from me enjoying Whitney and George as they go about solving this case. the narrator Clare Corbett was amazing as always!

Love the series but this one was weak

Sally Rigby has created a terrific series here and I love the characters. I intend this listen to the whole series. Clare Corbett is nothing short of sensational as the performer/reader. She has become one of my favorites. Having said this, Lethal Secret was the weakest of the first 4 books. Rigby got a bit lazy with this one. The ending was abrupt and predictable. She can do better and I’m looking forward to book #5 of the series.
