Shawn's message and wisdom are amazing. I really liked the Smarter tools for success chapter. My one complaint, is the misrepresentation of beef growers. All the cattle people I know work really hard to provide their animals with quality feed. If they don't, they won't turn a profit. So, just remember to source local quality meats and produce, like most authors recommend, and you are helping not only yourself but local producers.

Shawn Stevenson but not only writes great books on health and has a vast knowledge but he also is an excellent narrator! I’m sure all his podcasting experience has helped him master the craft of narrating.

Shawn makes concepts very straight forward that any liaison can understand while at the same time bringing over the factual scientific evidence and making it all interesting at the same time. This is an excellent audiobook!

The way in which Shawn breaks information down, makes this such an easy read or listen to. I truly respect him as a researcher and I’m eager to digest all the good information presented in this book.

This book has been all around a great listen for your health. Touching on all categories of diet, nutrition, sleep, brain health, and mental well-being. I think the mental well-being is one of my biggest struggles with weight loss, and boy has Chapter 10 been a game changing home run hit!

Lots of information. Much of the material is difficult to assimilate and apply in an audio format. I will follow up with the print format to highlight and reference.
Tons of legitimate references to support the assertions. Presented in easily understood language. I highly recommend this book for anyone trying to take control or regain their health.

I have struggled with a chronic illness for almost 12 years. It has affected my digestion, my metabolism, energy, my hobbies, my family, my marriage… Everything. I have worked with many doctors from allopathic to naturopathic to chiropractic to nutritionists. I’ve had success at times but it’s always been short lived. The way that Shawn is able to break down the science of our bodies and how our bodies interact with food has been so enlightening and helpful to me in my journey of living a healthy lifestyle. He is fun, factual, and easy to read/listen to and understand. He breaks down how we think about food by sharing facts which help his readers to reconceptualize how they think about how the food they eat impact every part of their lives. Highly recommend!
