This is a highly amusing short story,( 2hours,18 mins) the title explains it all, Graham suddenly finds he is about to become a father .
It is told in diary form but this does not at all spoil the plot/story.
If any of you men are in doubt as to whether you want to enter fatherhood or not , you should listen to this book, if you are not put off - then you are ready !!

perfectly narrated by Will M Watt, siuted the comical style without sounding rediculous

THE Diary of an Expectiant Father is the first novella in a series about Graham, a hapless young man who perhaps impregnated a young woman during a one-night stand. The author protrays Graham as sweet, dedicated, and naive, The character is written well, with good humor,and narrated nicely by Will Watt.

What other book might you compare The Diary of an Expectant Father to and why?

The book reminded me of .a less sophisticated version of the Shopaholic series, and form the male perspective

What does Will M Watt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought Will M Watt was perfect as the narrator. His voice lended youth and sweetness to Graham and he really helped me visualize Graham.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the cliffhanger ending to the story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this as a great laugh reading, regardless if you've ever been a parent or not. As I am a parent I've been in this position, even though I am not the father, but my husband was kind of like Graham Peterson in our first child and it reminded me of those days. It is the first of the series and I am really looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Graham Peterson of course, unlucky in his jobs, unlucky in love until Alison, but I think his 'bad' luck follows him even in this wonderful turn of events.

What about Will M Watt’s performance did you like?

His British accent made it even more hilarious and I really liked his performance a lot.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, all in one sitting laughing out loud most of the times.

An entertaining book

I thought this was a pretty good story. Being a father myself I went through many of the same things that he is going through.

I would recommend this to my friends of course for a great laugh listening. I love this book. This is about a new parents hilarious and eye opening from a man's point of view. Will M Watt [narrator] did a awesome job delivering this story, I loved the accent!

What does Will M Watt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Watt has a humor about his voice that makes this a very easy listen. He brings you right into the story. While the story was written in a diary format, he was able to make it flow quite nicely. His character voices were very nice.

The Diary of an Expectant Father is a short novel about the months leading up to the birth of Graham and Alison's child. As Graham only knew Allison a short time before she got pregnant, we are also seeing the growth of their relationship.

Mr. Sortwell has a nice writing style that makes for an easy listening book. I look forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Knocked up

I went into this book expecting a comedy about a man making a mess of things. There were a few laughs, but it was actually much deeper than that. Graham is a great guy and did a fantastic job of navigating the first year of becoming a father.

This book is the journey from finding out his girlfriend of a few weeks is pregnant to the birth. It is written in diary entry style and I enjoyed seeing Graham's inner thoughts. I liked Graham and Alison.

I listened to the audiobook edition which I received free in exchange for an honest review. The narrator was well suited to this book. He spoke clearly and at a good pace.

A must read for expecting parents!

This book takes the not so glamorous aspects of pregnancy and makes them down right hilarious.

Graham starts off writing his diary as sort of a time capsule for an alien warlord to find. As he starts to get into unloading through his writing he brings up lists of things that worry him. He starts to add in his experiences and you just get drawn in to this book. It is one laugh right after another from the photo booth flood pregnancy test, to the horrible co-workers, to working up the courage to tell the grandparents to be. I loved getting the male point of view on the whole situation.

Will M Watt does a fabulous job with the narration. He has a great reading voice and a wonderful accent, and he added plenty of emotion to this book.

Audiobook received for an honest review.

Okay, but mostly jus meh!

Not a bad book, but not what l expected either. I thought there would be more humor in the book but really it was just what the title said it was; the diary of an expectant father. Being a father myself I was able to relate to just about everything in the book. Of course living in the USA I never had to deal with the NHS, the British Healthcare system, but most of what the writer said is pretty common experience for most men.

The narration was good. Being that this was written like a memoir there were no character voices to do so it was pretty much just a straight reading. Fortunately, even the narrator is British he was easily understood to these Yankee ears.

I only gave the book three stars because, frankly, it doesn’t take a seasoned author to write a diary. It just takes one to make it interesting, and I didn’t find this one all that interesting. I am glad that I got this book and it’s sequel free from Audible because I would hate to think that I paid good money for it. Maybe I will listen to the followup sometime. Won’t be tomorrow though.
