Best book ever.

Tina Fey is a genius. Could not stop listening, so much funnier when she reads it.

Funny but not that original

I am not into SNL nor 30 Rock at present, so I have not been a part of the Tina Fey cult. I found this book to be amusing but not THAT funny nor terribly original (except for the part about peeing in cups). It's in the genre of Carrie Fisher, Sarah Silverman, and other SNL graduates. If you're comfy with that kind of content and tone, you'll get a ton of laughs out of this, but it took me at least an hour to even smile once. Perhaps I am too jaded by comedic as well as serious memoirs about life growing up in the 70's and 80's. It seems these people had a lot of the same issues and I am used to listening to the same stuff just dressed differently in different story lines and circumstances.

Although I did like the way her voice receded when dealing with difficult or embarrassing situations, Fey has very little grasp of timing and delivers her material as though she's in some sort of speed reading marathon and being judged by a stop watch. I just kept wanting to say, like the classic policeman giving a traffic ticket, "where's the fire?" I've listened to a radio interview with her and it's all the same - talking at lightning speed.

But it's a good five-hour laugh.

Enjoyable but thin

I did enjoy listening to this but was a little let down. I think Tina Fey and 30 Rock are the two best things on television these days. However the book is surprisingly thin on details that I would be more interested in-- related to her work at SNL or the development of 30 Rock (or even how she met her husband and what working together on the show is like). She talks about it, but not much, not about how she approaches writing, what she finds funny, how she came up with the character ideas for her show, etc. And it feels a little padded in some places with complete audio clips (printed transcripts in the book) of sketches.

Fey is extremely likable and funny, so it's definitely worth a listen--but I was hoping for a bit more.

Funny but...don't wreck your car!

I like Tina Fey and think she's funny, so this audiobook was an entertaining, enjoyable listen. To me it got even better during the second half. I must say, the "hype" surrounding this book/audiobook was a bit far beyond what is the actual experience to me. Tina is funny, but not any more than you imagine or expect if you are a fan. Seriously people, don't be crashing your cars or anything like that. A comment on the actual audio production: The sound quality could be better...not sure why it sounds like Tina's in a tunnel or bathroom or something.
