Cole’s Saga - a post-apocalyptic novel by AJ Newman

Cole’s Saga is a stand-alone spin-off series, based on my American Apocalypse series. Cole’s Saga continues the story about Cole Biggs, and how he and his friends survive the apocalypse. North Korea, China, and Iran conspired against the world and used EMP bombs to destroy our grid. This new series starts in the Kentucky / Tennessee part of the US. The grid is down, and people panic as planes fall from the sky and cars stall. The US Government collapses and rogue government groups rise to power. Jack Harp is Cole’s best friend’s father. Jack has had to survive on his own back in Kentucky while Cole and Joe Harp tamed Southern Oregon and killed or got rid of the gangs and thugs. Jack and Cole team up to fight the rogue FEMA troops so they can try to escape and join their friends back in Oregon. Cole, Molly, and her two cousins were kidnapped by FEMA and imprisoned in a FEMA Camp where they work as slaves to help rebuild the eastern part of the old US. They were captured in California and taken to a FEMA camp in Kentucky. Cole had promised to take the women to Ashland, Oregon, and the safety of Cole’s community and he will succeed or die trying.

Listen to Cole’s Saga to find out how this young man survives and builds a team strong enough to defy the rogue FEMA and survive the lack of food and resources encountered during the apocalypse.

Good to know!

I think what I enjoyed most about this series is knowing exactly where most scenes from the book took place. Obviously the author is well acquainted with Ashland, Medford and the Rogue river valley. Everyone should read or listen to at least one post apocalyptic series. Well worth your time!

Need more stars for a proper review

besides The End Of Summer series this has been my favorite series. I can't recommend the first series enough to fully understand the characters of this book. I rarely leave comments but wouldn't feel right about enjoying a series of books so much without saying so.

Excellent read

After reading The American Apocalypse boxset, I had to read about Coles Saga..
Thank you for making the characters come to life. I felt like I was right there with them. I truly enjoyed the ride. So again, thank you.

Enticing

The book left me looking forward to the next, even though I’ve already listen to five books in the series

Another good one

Loved it. Some slow spots but I never fell asleep. Mr. Kevin kicked butt as always. Ready for round two and a meeting. Would some one slap Molly the next time she gets upitiy?

Enjoyed the whole series

Enjoyed the series. Listened to the box set, then picked up Cole's Saga to finish out the character. Found the story line likeable because this is an "ordinary Joe" character. Most books of this type feature former military/spec-op type primary characters. That said, there was a lot of room for building a character that didn't have the extraordinary good fortune of a gift of huge property/bugout location and fiscal resources to acquire expensive survival tools (priced a late 60s Bronco lately?). I would much rather have seen "ordinary Joe" have to figure stuff out with the limited resources that his vocation/lifestyle left him like everyone else. Found the weapons to be somewhat inconsistent (Springfield does not make the M&P 15) so could have paid a bit more attention there and fuel, even in underground tanks, is only going to be useful for 1-3 years tops. Would love to have seen some work with making alcohol fuel and/or bio-diesel. Did love Grandma's letters. Her Character was a really great addition to the storyline.
Didn't care for the 'always looking to instantly fall in love' part of the story though the rationale provided helped temper that with a dose of reality. The dialogue was highly improbable as people, being emotional creatures, are rarely that thoughtful and introspective in their conversation.

Overall, I really enjoyed the series, listened to 6 books. Felt like a great opportunity to teach prepping from an every-man perspective was missed. Would still listen to more from this author as I did very much enjoy the series.

Great Book - Loved It

This is a review for American Apocalypse Box Set Books 1-4 and Cole’s two Books. I think this is the best Apocalypse story that I have listened to so far. Great job AJ, Kevin, and Sara. Of course, I want more, but the book will not leave you hanging. When you finish these 4 books, you move on to Cole’s 2 books. Everything is complete and wrapped up. Love the voice change for Grama that narrator Sara does. Sometimes when I search for books, I look for the narrator Kevin Pierce. I like other author's books but you have to wait months or years for the continuation of the story like in the Stonemont series books (I’m still waiting). I am glad this is not the case. The way Cole’s books end, AJ Newman can continue in the future but doesn’t have to.

I loved the characters and the story is wonderful. I hated to see some of the characters get killed but the story goes on. When you think things are good, something happens and you are wondering what will happen next. Joe, Grama, and Cole are my best likes. Joe’s dad at several times I was thinking if I was Cole, I would have left his ass stranded at times and just move on without him. As a young kid, he is a good leader just like Joe.

Anyway, this is a good book, and highly suggest you listen to it.
