Ayurveda, whose literal translation means "science or knowledge of life", is the traditional medical system of India. Its origin dates back to about 5,000 to 10,000 years and is widely considered to be the oldest form of healing in the world. There are five basic elements that shape the Ayurvedic philosophy: air, fire, water, Earth, and ether. Ayurveda bases its effectiveness on using practical and simple methods of natural origin, without experimenting with animals and relying on the effectiveness of plants.

Story
It's not you; it's your schedule. Does it sound like magic? It's not. We've all heard of circadian rhythms - those biological processes that give us jet lag and make us night owls or early birds. But few of us know just how profoundly these diurnal patterns affect our overall health. Bad habits - like skipping meals, squeezing in workouts, working late into the night and then trying to catch up on sleep during the weekend - disrupt our natural cycles. A growing body of research on chronobiology reveals just how sensitive the human body is to these rhythms all the way down to the genetic level.

Valuable info. Strong accent.
I find the ayurvedic system very interesting and am wanting to experiment with it. This book gives a nice overview of the subject while delivering some wisdom.
The narrator was a little difficult to understand. I usually am pretty good at understanding accents, however I found myself reflecting about as often on the question "what was that word he just said?" and on the information presented.

Wonderful knowledge
This books reads as a series of lessons. They are told almost casually as if I were sitting in a lecture hall. I really loved the format and the flow. The knowledge inside was very useful and I will definitely listen to this multiple times. The author and narrator has an accent yes but I could understand him fine.

Should have got help for narration
The author is well known in the field of Ayurveda. I was looking forward to educating my self and therefore purchased the book. However, it was so difficult to listen to as the accent is so strong and pronunciation is almost incomprehensible. There are grammatical errors in English. Why couldn't the author get professional help for narration? The book could have been enjoyed and helped so many more people.

Good introduction to Ayurveda
This book gave a really good introduction to Ayurveda. This is what I was expecting. The flow of how one intricate info leads to other is really made it simple to understand. Although I would have loved to listen to how to identify one’s Prakruti and if there is any imbalance. However it was a good and quick listen.
