Publisher's summary

The first book in the Aghora trilogy containing the teachings of Dr. Svoboda’s mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. Written almost entirely in Vimalananda’s own words, it presents events from his life, tenets of his philosophy, and highlights from his spiritual practices. Designed partly to shock and partly to comfort, but wholly as an offering to his Beloved, Aghora is a picture of a man who was a riddle wrapped up in an enigma.

Rare, Divine, Beautiful

Once I started the book I could not stop. It’s all I listened to over the past few days. As mentioned with some of the other comments about the book, it’s so amazing to get to digest something so rare and misunderstood as a spiritual practice in this way. It’s so clear, organized, and inspiring to hear something in detail of those who have lived it like this.

Sublime, timeless.

Not only is this book unparalleled as a record of Aghora from a lived perspective, but it benefits immensely from the wonderful narration of Dr. Svoboda, whose lively and engaging way adds a dimension of charm to the experience. I hope he releases the second and third installments of this essential work. Well done.

Required Reading for Being

This book takes you beyond what it means to be human and toward what it means to be eternal. It is both the most familiar and most transformative book I have ever read. If you are ready for your deepest truths and some hard facts, listen now. I advise listening while reading the hard copy or on Kindle for the most potent experience, and if you don’t have familiarity with Sanskrit, to more easily process the terms.

Timeless

Nothing else like it. Finally a comprehensive narrative about a misunderstood spiritual path. Spirituality is about what is real and exists which is not always gumdrops and rainbows. I read the paperback about 20 years ago and this text is becoming more and more relevant each year.

Amazing

Incredible. Mystifying. Real. Wonderful to hear Robert's own voice. There is no book like this, anywhere.

Strange and Dr Strange

The book takes you to a strange land. Every book changes you slightly. Listen to the last 5 mins of the book to start with - this can help you address the questions about intentions of the book.

Out of the ordinary, and into the fire

Robert Svaboda's ability to distill Vedic concepts into clear and palatable vision never ceases to amaze. I am greatly looking forward to listening to the next two installments of this series.

A complete course in bhakti yoga.

A great story with some truth and lots of entertainment. Masterfully done in every regard.

I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the tale of yoga. I personally learned interesting facts my teachers did not have the time to explain.
