Another great Dona Fox!

Dona's short stories are really dark and creepy. This one is no exception. Very well-written and well-narrated. You'll want to listen to all of her stuff. Highly recommended!

Short horror story

I really enjoyed this short story and would have loved it to have been a longer . The story pulled me right in and the twist finished it perfectly. although it was a little bit too creepy for me.

creepy

I made the mistake of listening to this book.
I don't like to be scared and don't like creep books.
THIS is both. It is very well written, and, although only a short book (audio is only about an hour), I almost had to stop listening. Totally creeped me out.
The narrator was perfect for this story and definitely does it justice.

Creepy and not what you think...

I love short horror stories because they always have so much going on in such a short span. This story was no different. I started the story so mad at the family for what they were doing, but after all was explained, and the story progressed, I started feeling like the family was in the right! It makes me wonder about the secrets my own neighbors are hiding! Fun story.

Creepy story

This is a creepy story to listen to but we’ll worth it. Told from first person perspective it draws you in to the mystery right away. Only complaint is it was too short, I would’ve loved to hear more.

Horror in the mundane

Dona Fox is a master of finding horror in the mundane and ordinary. Told from the perspective of a young girl who finds her father’s diary, belief is supplanted with horrible reality. And as with many of her stories, there is no need for the supernatural when reality is terrible.

Perfect Halloween Ghost story!

Listen to this story right before you take the kiddies out to trick or treat! Ha!
I dare you too!
Really enjoyed this story. So much so I bought another of Ms.Fox short stories. It’s a very fast paced story of a sweet little girl, her overwhelmed dad and a creepy neighbor!
I was given this story to read by the author, and I loved it. Really happy to find a new author to add to my nightmares.

Unsettling!

This would have been a perfect Halloween listen, if you're in to feeling particularly festive. It is a great short horror and a very quick listen

The whole style of this book was unique. There is a definite creep factor and this short story is definitely eerie. It will leave you feeling unsettled, in a good way. It is not super scary on the surface; but if you let it sink in, it will leave you feeling perplexed.

The narrator did a great job!

Creepy creepy creepy creepy!!!!!

Thank god I decided to start this book on the way to work and not when I was driving home at Midnight! There is no way I could have listened to this in the dark alone.

Since I love to be scared I love this book. The suspense creeps up on you little by little building and building.

Even though it is a short story only about an hour long I felt like I lived the six year span of the book.

Narration was spot on point. Story was creepily excellent. If you love a good spooky Halloween story this one is for you
