She lives her days feeling invisible. It's not until she develops a friendship with her wheelchair-bound neighbor, Judah Grant, that things begin to change.
When a neighborhood girl, seven-year-old Neveah Anthony, goes missing, Judah sets out to help Margo uncover what happened to her. What Margo finds changes her, and with a new perspective on life she's determined to find evil and punish it - targeting rapists and child molesters one by one. HUH?? I'm so confused LOL
Here is another book by Tarryn that I just don't think I completely get! It kept me interested from the beginning and I was enthralled throughout because I had no Idea what was real and what wasn't. I don't think I really grasped what the author was trying to say but that is about me and not her writing style. If it's not black and white, I don't always get it. I will say this was a complete mind f*ck! I love Tarryn's writing style!
The narration was good and fit the character perfectly!

Loved this journey!
What a trip! This excellent narration carried the story along swiftly and expertly. You can't help but love the main character and all her flaws. Only one part of the book left me slightly confused so I may return to it again to see if there was something I missed. Overall, I was fully involved in this story and wanted it to go on & on - perhaps there is a Margo part 2 in the works? I hope so.

Not Really a Thriller, But a Beautiful Book
I'm a mystery/psychological thriller fan, and I wouldn't really call this either...not really suspenseful. However, it was very psychological. What the book lacks in suspense, it makes up for in engrossing language and well written character development. Despite my having expected it to be something different than what it turned out to be, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Fisher has a way of drawing you into the world that she has created and making you feel the things that her character feels to the extent that one can when reading fiction. I didn't mind the voice of the audio book narrator, but I didn't think she did some of the phrasing or emotion justice. She sounded a bit wooden in parts, as if she was reading the story aloud without being connected to it. That didn't detract from the story, but I did get a bit distracted by it a couple times and had to back up and listen to certain parts again. It was an excellent book, though, and one I'm glad to have read. I enjoyed Mud Vein too, so I will definitely be on the lookout for future works by this author.

Not My Favorite
What disappointed you about Marrow?
I feel that the writing was juvenile while trying desperately to be deep & mature. I don't think this story was nearly as good as it could have been. The writer tried too hard & I think it made the story fall flat in areas that should have been exciting & descriptive. Some parts I feel deserved a lengthy explanation were casually passed over, and left me throwing my hands up in the air feeling like I missed an entire chapter.
Would you be willing to try another book from Tarryn Fisher? Why or why not?
I don't see why not. Although the writing wasn't my favorite I enjoyed her creativity.
What three words best describe Audra Pagano’s performance?
Weird. Choppy. Inconsistent. The narrator would pronounce names a certain way through half the book and then all of a sudden pronounce them differently and then switch back at the end. It was very distracting. At some parts it sounded like she was stumbling through through the book, like she lost her place. Not my favorite narrator.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I liked the plot a lot, I enjoyed the creativity, I just think it could have been executed a lot better.

4.5 out of 5 "Margo and her Poetic Vengeance" Star
This is not your typical story…this one might make you want to DNF even…but stick with it, because it may surprise you. It did me. Thank you, Tarryn Fisher, for a story that made me stop and seriously think and will also stick with me, for a while to come.
This is not a romance, although it has something like romantic moments. It's a story about seeing things that make you angry, like really angry and taking your own form of punishment out on the perpetrators. Margo is like the Punisher.
I took a half star off, mainly because I was really confused at one point, things got all crazy. If anyone has read this, they might know where that happened at. I had to re-listen to some sections, but all in all, her ending paragraphs in the epilogue made this story make sense, somehow.

Amazing and different
If you could sum up Marrow in three words, what would they be?
emotional, surprising, disturbing
What other book might you compare Marrow to and why?
no other book I can think of
Which scene was your favorite?
I don't have one favorite
Any additional comments?
Here is my full review from Amazon:
This book is so different from any other book I have read. It is disturbing, gut-wrenching, emotional, beautifully written, the words, the feelings.....I can't seem to get my thoughts together about this book.
I wanted to like Margo and I did like her, then I hated her decisions, hated her actions, hated the way she was making me cringe inside. Was Judah real or not? Is he a figment of her imagination? Is he truly there?
Dr. Saphira Elgin is in this book. The first Tarryn Fisher book I read was Mud Vein, and to have Dr Elgin in this book surprised me, but made me doubt everything she said. It gave me such a sense of uncertainty. Is the Doctor "good" or is she as her character is in Mud Vein? I doubted everything she said to Margo, I doubted the thoughts she put in Margo's head.
The absolutely horrendous things that Margo does in this book is in retaliation to horrendous things done to the less fortunate. Women who were raped, children who were abused, people who have done "wrong". In a sense, she behaves like a superhero for the people she feels need vengeance.
Terryn Fisher's ability to write a character that brings out such emotion in her readers is incredible. The writing is incredible. This book is going to stay with me for a long time. There is no HEA in this book and there isn't supposed to be.
Read this book. Read it to get out of the usual formula of romance, YA, and even mystery. READ THIS BOOK.
