Funny and delightful bundle

This is aimed to those who love the genre. If you are here looking for a mystery book, this bundle is not for you.

But if what you're looking for is something that will let you with a smile in your face, a clean and funny story with sympathetic protagonists, a bit of romance, and a light and easy read, go for it! You will fully enjoy these eight stories =D

And the performance by Lainie Pahos is spectacular, as good as we are used to get from her.

Recommended for those who love the genre.

This Is A VERY bad recording!

I have this set of books in Kindle, and wanted to get it in Audible, so I was eager to purchase it when I saw this deal for 1 credit. It is a big disappointment. The narrator is reading the books like an adult reading to children, reading in a high voice and trying to change her voice for characters. I have kept books for this flaw in other books, but there is a more significant irritation in this version: In multiple places, the narrator repeats various phrases for no reason what-so-ever! Very poor editing.

Light read/listen

The book is about Meg who is a witch but doesn't want anyone to know. She was a sleuth but was wanting to quit. There is a murder and she was drawn in again. Her boyfriend is a police officer which allows her to get into investigations. She doesn't use any magic...strange. If your a sleuth why not use magic to help find the perpetrator. It was a light read/listen. The books are short but enjoyable. The narrator does a fair job at the narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Same story repeatedly

I know these are cozy mysteries but I have been only able to get through 4 of them. They are all the same with just different names. Plus it sounded very amateur. I can't decide if it is the author's writing or the narrator.

Witch Cozy

I liked this set.Meg is a witch who doesn't seem to want to use her powersHer boyfriend is a cop.She runs a donut shop, which is great for her boyfriend.Meg has a lot of friends and acquaintences that die in mysterious ways and she has to be the one to figure out what happened. She goes through 8 books questioning and badgaring people until she gets an answer. It is a good series if you like the cozy mystery type of story. Lainie Pohos starts out as a fair narrator in book one but does get better through the series. There are some spots of repetition. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Sweet little cozy mysteries

These are sweet lil mysteries that have a touch of romance. They are lighthearted and cute. If you like this genre then these are for you. I hadn’t listened to this kind of book much but still enjoyed them. I think that people saying it’s the same thing over and over is probably because if you listen to the same kind of short story over and over I think it really does seem like it’s the same so it’s important that you really think of each one individually.

Lots of fun!

This is a great deal go get all of the books in this bundle! Trust me if you read book 1 you’ll want to keep going, as the plots spill over from one book to the other. Great narration, an enjoyable story & little magic make this series a joy!

Great Series!

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. The narrator did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Light Cozy Mystery Set

This is a 8 book collection of light short cozy mysteries. I enjoyed listening to them. They were fun and easy to listen to. There was less magic than I expected and a bit of romance between the main character and the attractive detective.

Narration was ok but I did hear quite a few repeated words and some background noise. Overall an ok job. It did not bother me too much.

Each story revolves around Meg and her detective. Each book has someone new that abruptly got murdered. Some are close friends, some acquaintances, and some family friends.

It is a fun set and I enjoyed listening to the stories. Narration could have been a bit more polished but I throughly enjoyed the light laid back Mystery set.

Really did not like these

Sadly I did not like these. Managed 2 of the books. The stories seemed identical and told in the same way.

The narrator's voice was irritating; or maybe that accent is just not for me.

I didn't like any of the characters; and felt the author was just capitalising on a winning formula for other authors.

Nothing good to say sadly.

Needs editing

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Lainie Pahos

This narrator has a pleasant voice and delivery making these stories an enjoyable listen.

Bk 1: The witches of enchanted bay
Enchanted doughnuts is the shop we all wish for, doughnuts enchanted with magic to make them low calorie and healthy!
If you’re going to play the sluth then having magic at your disposal is a bonus but then why wouldn’t you just cast a spell to make people tell the truth?
There’s is a repeated line that really should have been picked up in editing.

Bk 2: Ax to grind
Connor and Meg are a likeable couple, unfortunately this book is almost exactly the same as the first book, word for word in places.
Again as in book 1 there is a repeated line that should have been picked up in editing.

Bk 3: killer twist
Meg is investigating the death of a friend who’s tell all book is going to ruffle the feathers of a rich family.
This is a better story than the first two, there are less of the word for word repeats that are in books 1 & 2.
This story has two repeated lines that should have been picked up in editing.

Bk 4: A bewitching murder
This was an enjoyable story but unfortunately editing let it down.
The end of Chapter 8 cuts off just as a sentence starts then goes straight to chapter 9, there was also two repeated lines, was this audio not listened to/edited before it was released?

Bk 5: A riddle of a murder
This is a nice and enjoyable story but again there are two repeated lines that editing should have picked up.

Bk 6: The nuts and bolts of murder
There appears to be some dialogue missing. They go to confront the killer and the next chapter starts with the suspect pointing at his name tag saying it couldn’t be his they found but Meg and Conner hadn’t mentioned finding a name tag.

Bk 7: strangling ambition
This is an enjoyable story but again the editing lets it down this one had three Repeated lines

Bk 8: Therapy can be murder
These cozy mysteries would be much more entertaining if they weren’t exactly the same as each other. As with the first seven in this series this book needs editing, there are two Repeated lines in this one.

Disappointing

I couldn't get through the first book.

It's more a series of short sentences than a flowing narrative... which makes it very staccato and "bitty" Plus, the plot-device of her magical abilities meaning all Meg has to to is utter three repeats of a word in Latin to get whatever magical effect she desires (stuck door, fake police badge, illusionary police uniform...) is far too easy/convenient - like a perpetual Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card for life. It doesn't bode well for an interesting and engaging storyline.

It telegraphs the intended Romance that is going to develop between Meg and her returned-to-town policeman ex. It's heading over the horizon with horns blaring to announce its arrival, which doesn't bode well for the chances of it being a subtle sub-plot instead of an overblown Major Plot Theme of the in-your-face style already done to death by so many paranormal fiction series that present themselves like Tacky Romance novels.

It's also badly produced (lots of repeated sections that need editing out), and badly narrated (glaring mispronunciations such as "bespeckled" instead of "bespectacled", "voluMptuous" instead of "voluptuous") and the stilted narration emphasises the short choppy sentence structure with no natural flow to connect the sentences into a coherent whole.

So, I wasn't impressed and, after an overnight break part way through the first of the eight books, realized I had been given no incentive to continue listening. I'm marking this one down as a dud.

Cute

Book One- The Witches of Enchanted Bay.

A cute, short read. The story flowed at a good pace and concluded nicely. I would have liked to see Meg and her family use magic more. I liked the talking cat/gran. It reminded me of Salem in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Review for book 2 will follow shortly.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.

recording not so great

The naration was good. but needs more polishing in the editing . as quite often it rrapeted itself and could tell it wasn't cut.

The rest of it was great
