Story
This way of dieting has been gaining vast popularity and chances are you’ve heard of it. If you’ve done any research on IIFYM & Flexible Dieting in the past, perhaps you've realized that no foods are off limits. No food groups are labeled good or bad for you. What matters, in this style of dieting, is if your macro budget has room for the foods you want to eat. If so, then you’re in the clear! So how did this type of dieting come about? Well, bodybuilders in the old days simply got tired of eating the same bland foods when preparing for a competition.

Publisher's Summary
International Best Seller
If you want to get fitter, leaner, and stronger without crash dieting, good genetics, or wasting ridiculous amounts of time in the gym...you want to listen to this book.
Because here’s the deal:
Building lean muscle and burning stubborn fat isn't nearly as complicated you’ve been led to believe.
This book is the shortcut.
And guess what?
- You don't need to: spend hundreds of dollars per month on the worthless supplements, "detoxes", or "skinny teas". Most pills, powders, and potions do absolutely nothing.
- You don't need to: constantly change up your workout routine to gain lean muscle in all the right places. Muscle building is much simpler than that.
- You don't need to: waste a couple of hours in the gym every day grinding through grueling workouts you hate. In fact, this is a great way to get nowhere.
- You don't need to: slog away at boring cardio to shed ugly belly, hip, and thigh fat and get a beach-ready body. In fact, you probably don't have to do any cardio to get the body you really want.
- You don't need to: obsess over "clean eating" and avoiding "unhealthy" foods to get toned. Instead, you can get and stay fit eating the foods you love.
Those are just a few of the harmful lies and myths that keep gals from ever achieving the lean, strong, and sexy body they truly desire.
And in this book you'll learn something most women will never know:
The exact methods of eating and exercising for losing 10 to 15 pounds of stubborn fat and gaining lean muscle like clockwork...and it only takes a few months.
The bottom line is you can get that "Hollywood babe" body without following strange or restrictive diets or living in the gym.
This book shows you how.
So, click the “Buy Now” button now and begin your journey to a fitter, leaner, and stronger you.

Written and Read for a Man not a Woman
Would you try another book from Michael Matthews and/or Jeff Justus?
Perhaps
If you’ve listened to books by Michael Matthews before, how does this one compare?
I have not but, this one was good
Which character – as performed by Jeff Justus – was your favorite?
Jeff Justus read this like he was talking to a twenty something man, not a woman. It felt like what "Maxim" magazine would sound like on audio. Don't you want, strong, sexy, hot, and awesome hotness, lean, sexy, hotness? Well, I am going to tell you how to sexy up your work out... Something like that.
Do you think Thinner Leaner Stronger needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. This book provides a fundamental concept of resistance training and proper diet and supplements. This is definitely very sound advice. The production just doesn't work for me.
Any additional comments?
There is nothing particularly new in this book but, it is sound advice. The book definitely sounds like it was written for a man though. Perhaps the narrator is simply trying to "sexy" it too much but, this definitely sounds like it was written for a man, not a woman

"The Ultimate Female Body", but uses male examples
What disappointed you about Thinner Leaner Stronger?
I'm upset that this book was supposed to focus on "The Ultimate Female Body", but uses examples of 250 pound men trying to maintain below 8% bodyfat. These examples don't give me what I thought I was listening to - a book focused on women. And these examples cannot translate to the female figure! False advertising -- he's just reusing chapters of his male-focused book in order to sell to a different demographic. It feels cheap.
What could Michael Matthews have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He could have kept to the promise of a book about the Female Body and used exclusively female examples!

Quickly dye that jockstrap pink! They won't notice
I suspect this is just rehashed content from the masculine counterpart of this author's other book. While I understand that many aspects of diet and fitness are the same for both male and female, this book is supposed to be specifically for women, but the content proves otherwise. At the very least the author or editor should edit the pronouns in certain chapters from he to she appropriately. I'm insulted that such a minor elements would be overlooked by the author or editor, or narrator. I appreciated some of the content, but was turned off and felt cheated as if the book was just given a new cover with little else changed, so the team can further capitalize on their success with the first book about building a masculine physique. For this reason, I don't recommend it and I wonder how much of it was truly intended for this edition and not just an afterthought or slapped together to make a few extra bucks.
I don't doubt that the author has knowledge on the topic, but I was underwhelmed and also bored after listening to someone read a fitness dictionary for two chapters. Most people who purchase a book of this nature know what a calorie is. It does not appear to be geared towards an audience that is new to nutrition or fitness. Further, that section had the potential to be fun infotainment, but instead sounded like you'd expect, someone reading a dictionary definition aloud.
The author didn't care enough to put even the most basic effort into this edition. Were they hoping readers also wouldn't care?

A good book, but not the best for audio consumption
It does come with the kindle download which helps, but since I primarily listen while I'm in my car, it made going back to find the parts I wanted to see in the kindle version inconvenient. The principles in the book seem sound (I'm not far enough into my workout progression to say from personal experience yet). I like that he explains everything and backs it up with published studies as well as personal observation both of his own experiences and those of his clients. The ideas are expressed clearly, though not necessarily as concisely as some may like. Overall I liked the book and fully intend to incorporate the things I've learned, I just feel that perhaps you should get the print version if you have that option.

Yes

This book has given me all the tools I need to be my own personal trainer. It is better than a personal trainer because it provides you with the knowledge to be able to design your own fitness and meal plans, and then update them without requiring guidance from someone else. So empowering to be able to do it on your own! Your friends will ask how you did it!!!! This book is the best fitness secret!

I ZONED OUT THE NARRATOR WAS SO HORRIBLE
What would have made Thinner Leaner Stronger better?
A DIFFERENT NARRATOR, using women as examples in a WOMENS BOOKS.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
This book is OBVIOUSLY a quick production and knock off of the mens version. Men are used in the examples and references.
What didn’t you like about Jeff Justus’s performance?
This guy, wow, he bored me beyond what i thought was possible. i think he would do well in a romance narration but this was obviously not his type of book.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Thinner Leaner Stronger?
The information in this book is good information but actually wanting to listen to retain or even hear the information was impossible
Any additional comments?
This is the first book i have returned. Hopefully it will be the last.

Excellent
Probably best to not get it as audio as I could have done with some of the information written down for me and to keep having to rewind the audio is more than annoying. Also the guy who narrates it can't always say his 'W's properly and pronounces it like the way Stewie says 'coolwhip' in Family Guy. But overall great book!

First half is top class, struggled with second
If you like the science (like me), you'll find the first half fascinating. The second half goes into specifics for diet and training, which I think would be better as a hard copy book because it's hard to visualise when listening to the audiobook. Overall though, some really good takeaways from this.

Good content, poor narration
A lot of great content that is also common sense. I believe the principles are generally sound and grounded in science ( still to be put to test though!) The narration is quite awful though.. monotonous and robotic! I pushed through the entire book because the content itself is quite informative for someone who is kinda of a newbie to strength training but also needed better guidance on nutrition.

spot on
this is a fantastic book if you are looking to get going with your health and fitness journey. TLS is so good in fact that I've ordered the hard copy for reference. The information is comprehensive and easy to understand. Mike doesn't over complicate fitness and nutrition.

Another self promoting self-help book.
One of my pet peeves with many self help books is that the opening chapters go on and on and on about how great their programme is. This one is no different. Look, I've already bought the book, you don't have to keep selling me on the idea that I should buy the book!! I kept skipping ahead on chapters, but every chapter was about how other people got into shape using this system, and how, no matter your circumstance, you can too. Great, awesome! That's why I bought the book. Now please, just tell me what I need to do!! But, I never got that far. I skipped ahead to chapter 8 (listening to parts of each chapter as I went), and just got bored with all the self-promotion. I'm so great, this programme is great, you're great, the people that lost weight are great... I have no idea where in the book the good stuff actually begins. What a waste.

Awesome fitness book
A great no-nonsense guide to health & fitness. Stresses hard work, discipline and proper techniques over quick fixes that aren't sustainable.

Great book - shame audible messed up the chapters!
Love the content and I’ve learned a lot listening, but the layout of the content has major issues. Over 7 hours of the book (e.g. the parts you’ll want to listen to again!!!!) are lumped into a single chapter with no breaks for the ability to easily find the parts you want. No fault of the author, I even contacted Audible and was sent a nonsense generic reply. Would be five stars if this wasn’t the case. Really disappointed in Audible, but looking forward to starting the program. Thanks heaps Michael!!

Fantastic, Concise and Incredibly Informative
Thinner Leaner Stronger is exactly the resource I've been looking for! For the past 9 months I've been fascinated with building a better, healthier and leaner body, but have struggled to find something female specific. This book packages up everything you need to know, and the convenience of having it in audio means I can listen to and from work, and I can pick and choose which chapters I'd like to revisit. Thank you so much- have already started implementing your strategies, and have been raving about it to a bunch of friends! :)

Generic information and not female specific
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not - would have been so much more enjoyable and helpful if it was specific to female nutrition and skipped all the male stats and data
Any additional comments?
Whilst quite informative, it was very general in nature. Good to hear that he is not trying to sell supplements and merc.
