Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg comes a stand-alone contemporary romance about trusting fate and finding yourself again.

Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need.

His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.

He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own.

But he taught me things I’d forgotten.

How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.

The problem?

I went and fell in love with him.

---

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.

Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.

She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.

I was only supposed to be there six months.

I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.

Instead I fell in love with her.

---

They say it’s better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?

Then You Happened is a stand-alone enemies to lovers, small-town romance. Full-length at 107,000 words.

Can’t look away

I was sucked in from the beginning. You knew it was coming. You knew what was coming. You knew it would hurt. But you kept walking towards it anyway. I loved it and will likely be reading again.
Oh and Brian...I’ll buy anything you’re selling.

Loved Jack and Tatum

I haven’t read many books by this author but each time I do I’m reminded of how real the characters are, how easy they are to connect with. Jack and Tatum are no exception. Their connection pulls you in, lights them up and makes for amazing camaraderie, foreplay and passion. The fights are sexual tension and self preservation, but they are inevitable and it was beautiful. The last chapters broke my heart and made me hate a man so selfish he broke not one but two people. Will? Great supporting character the last few chapters.

Good story but overly drawn out

An emotional, overly long romance between a couple emerging from tragic pasts involving their separate impetuous behaviors in their early 20’s, that place them a few years later in each other’s paths. Their story involves saving a horse ranch while coping with grief, anger, and self esteem. The dialogue drags in several places but the story develops into a hot, steamy story set in a small, somewhat backward town in Texas hill country. The narration is well done but sadly this is one of the last stories narrated by the late Brian Pallino.

I have to say I love all of K. Bromberg's book and this one was no different. the storyline was sweet and there is some added humor that made me chuckle. I am positive I will listen to this book again.

Great cowboy romance!

This was a great story written by a favorite Author with excellent performances by Grace Grant and Brian Pallino. The story was well written with interesting characters. Very stubborn characters, but it fits them perfectly. Some people are just so very reluctant to accept help they can't get out of their own way. Still others can get convinced they aren't worthy of love or worthy of another person. It can be frustrating as a reader, but it just shows you are invested in the story and the characters. I would recommend this audiobook!

Worth the credit

I always read the -(ve) and middle-of-the-road reviews before purchasing a book. Having listened to the story I can say I disagree all the negative commentary. The performances were great (I'm a bit biased as I'm a fan of Grace Grant). The story line was consistent and moved along at a good pace, this was not my favourite Bromberg story but it was still good. The male and female leads were believable and likeable, their internal dialogue was perhaps a bit protracted but didn't tip into the ridiculous. Overall this was a good story, I'm happy I purchased it.

What an incredible story!

I'm in love with Tate and Jack!
I'm in love with this book! K. Bromberg has brought us a new couple who pull at your heartstrings and make you cheer for them to have it all.
Take one strong, determined and heartbroken woman. Add one confident, determined and repentive man. It all equals a push and pull story of epic moments. Of finding trust in another person when all has been lost. Of working hard to succeed at your goals. Of finding confidence in yourself. Of finding "the one" who's your perfect match even when you're not really looking.

This is a great book and even more fabulous when you add the audible version and listen along as you read. The narrators, Grace Grant and Brian Pallino give you the feeling of being there in the moment and add an extra level of pleasure to this story.
