New series with lots of secrets and questions

This is book one of a new series and takes us to the small town of Heartwood Lake. This book focuses on Wren and Drake but introduces us to the remainder of Drake's family. Many secrets and dangers are lurking and past hurts that Drake is trying to get over with Wren's help. It gives us tidbits of the other siblings but there is much more to learn.

Grace Grant, and Patrick Zeller narrate this book. They do a good job. They both bring the emotion that is in this book and kept my attention throughout.

Great story and narration

Heartwood Lake Billionaires Series is off to a great start with A Place Like You. The Kershaw family is going to keep us on our toes and entertained. This is Drew’s book, but many of his family members make an appearance. There are many secrets surrounding their family and Claudia is going to keep us guessing throughout this series.

Wren is a single mom and the lone doctor in town…she doesn’t like to ask for help but she could really use some to help balance her life.

The initial meeting between the two does not go as Drew expected but a turn of events changes Wren’s feelings towards him. They begin to build a sweet friendship that leads to more.

This is a slow burn, mysterious read that will keep your attention to the end. Looking forward to the other books in their series and learning more about who’s behind all the reason the Kershaw’s are in town.

Patrick Zeller and Grace Grant gave great performances! They gave the characters perfection emotion, personality and voice.

Finding love

I really enjoy dual narration and these two narrators did an excellent job with all the emotions in this story. This is the first book in a new series, based in a small town where a rotating number of people come through in a witness protection type deal. Drake is a rich, talented surgeon who is climbing the walls stuck working on the ranch where he lives with other family members. He decides to try and get Wren, the local physician, to hire him to work in her clinic. She’s not thrilled with the idea but lets him join her staff. I enjoyed watching their story develop, and her young son was adorable. I’m looking forward to seeing who’s story is up next.

Heartfelt Romance!

A Place Like You is the 1st book in the Heartwood Lake series. It is a small-town romance that takes you on a heartfelt journey. This is Drake and Wren's book and although they have chemistry their romance was a slow burn.

Wren is a single mother working full time running a clinic and she has been hurt in the past so she has trust issues and difficulties letting anyone in her's and Milo's life. Milo is just the cutest little boy. Drake is somewhat broody and arrogant but the banter between him and Wren is hilarious. With his mysterious past, can Wren let her walls down and trust Drake enough to let him in? I really enjoyed this book and the audio version. The narrators, Patrick Zeller and Grace Grant, did an amazing job bringing this story to life!

Amazing Story & Brilliant Start A New Series!

Claudia Burgoa pens another amazing novel, and it is a brilliant start to her new series, the “Heartwood Lake Secret Billionaires”. Burgoa is the queen of crossover characters, which is a treat for those who are familiar with her books, as well as those new because they will leave you intrigued and wanting to know more about them. That said, we get cameo’s of Finnegan Gill, who, with his partner Derek Farrow, specializes in security and protection and he turned the small town of Heartwood Lake into a safe place for those in witness protection. Some residents are aware and work with them, including Wren Lynch, a single mom of an adorable five-year-old son, Milo, and a doctor who runs the town’s clinic. Wren has her own reason for coming to Heartwood Lake, but she now calls it home. Drake Kershaw, formerly known as Drake Thorndale and his half brothers and sisters, as well as his stepmoms, were all brought to Heartwood Lake because of the danger their father brought to their door. Drake is the outcast of the family, his father did not help matters either, but he became a successful surgeon and being thrown back with all his half-siblings and step-moms is not ideal for him and he asks Finnegan to get him a real job. Finnegan asks Wren to have him work in the clinic, but she was hesitant, thinking his stay in town is temporary stay and she does not want to get attached. When overwhelmed with incoming patients, she calls him in and he is in his element. It was great to watch these two get to know each other, there is undeniable chemistry between them, but it takes Wren a while before she lets the walls around her heart down to let him in. I loved the complexity of the characters and it was also great to learn more about their backstories and what brought them to Heartwood Lake. This first book of the series lays down the foundation of what is going to come and I am looking forward to learn more about the rest of the Kershaw’s and some of the townsfolk, who were great secondary characters. As always, Burgoa’s writing, plot and world building is fantastic, as are the character growth and development. This wonderful small town romance has the perfect balance of drama, charming humor, heartfelt emotions and romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Grace Grant and Patrick Zeller were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, grasping every aspect of their character’s personality, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

4 1/2 stars. Good story with great narration.

4 1/2 stars. This was a good story. Wren was very territorial about her clinic and patients. Now a family had been brought into her town for their own protection, and she had to deal with Drake up close and personal. He was arrogant, frustrated, and felt unwanted. An emergency gave him an opportunity to show how well they could work together. Then the heat turned up. I enjoyed this introduction to the Kershaw family. There was humor, grit, and love galore.

The duet narration of Grace Grant and Patrick Zeller enhanced this entertaining story. Both brought life to the characters along with all of their emotions. Well done.

Great story

I was so excited when I heard the Claudia Burgoa was releasing a new series and if A Place Like You is anything to go by, then she has another winning series on her hands.

Such was the descriptive writing I could easily picture myself in Colorado whilst reading. I love single parent stories, add in some suspense with the romance and for me it is a win/win. Drake and his siblings have relocated to Colorado for their protection. The last thing he expected was to be attracted to Wren, a fellow doctor and single mother.

The narration by Patrick Zeller and Grace Grant drew me in and had me invested as I listened to their narration. They brought the story and characters to life for me. Their voices are easy to listen too, and they expressed all the drama, romance and passion

However, the heart wants who the heart wants and the attraction that sizzes between them is too powerful to overlook. As the walls they have both built, begin to crumble they both must learn to trust again. The question is are they prepared to put in the work?

Enjoyed Wren and Drake's romance!

Swoon! A Place Like You by Claudia Burgoa was a sweet and swoony love story about finding love in unexpected places. If you like a single mom/ doctor romance mixed with a secret identity all set in a small town, then you will love Drake and Wren's romance.

Grace Grant and Patrick Zellar perform this audiobook in dual narration, and both embody their characters to the fullest. Grace captured Wren's hesitancy and dedication to her son perfectly while Patrick was spot on conveying Drake's persistent, loving nature. Both built the tension and the slow-burn magnetic chemistry that had me longing for Wren and Drake to find their HEA.

Grace Grant and Patrick Zeller did a great job bring the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with emotion and really made me feel part of the small town of Heartwood Lake.
Life in Heartwood Lakes is not what it seems, secrets are being kept and not everyone is who they say they are but the one thing they all want is to protect their families and partners.
Wren is used to being loved and left and all she wants us a man to stay so she doesn’t give her trust easily but Drake is determined to prove he is worthy of her taking another chance on a man even if that means giving her his true identity……
This book ticked all my boxes and I’m excited for what’s to come from the billionaires of Heartwood Lake.
