Publisher's summary

A courageous, life-changing memoir that teaches us to apply the lessons learned by those nearing their death to our own life.

After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care.

During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote an Internet blog post about the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed to her. The post, also called 'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying', gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million people worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, Bronnie now shares her personal story.

Bronnie has had a colourful and diverse life. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, she developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if they make conscious choices, to die with peace of mind. In this heartfelt retelling, Bronnie expresses the significance of these regrets. She explains how we can address these issues positively now, while we still have the time.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing gives hope for a better world. Bronnie's delightful memoir is a courageous, life-changing book that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.

the lessons learned along the journey

while death is not my focus because of my beliefs of immortality. it was a refreshing way to gain lessons for living. the voice, the stories shared. i could actually enter into the places and see the people and places being discribed .
i will recommend as it was by someone in a group im in this year.

insightful, Relevant, and Applicable

this is a great story of an everyday person's life, told in a way that really helps us think about our lives and what is important. And what is not.

Life changing

I never have experienced such powerful words and profound inspiration after reading any book. This one is a life changer. I see the light now, and never in even one thousand years could I ever see anything but the true light that shines within me. I'd recommend this book to everyone, although the reader must be ready to fully understand and embrace the opportunity to decide to see your own light and therefore begin living from such a loving place. After all we ARE love.

Wow!!!

Straight forward, beautifully narrated and thoughtful lessons gently delivered. I needed all of these words as written to enlighten the rest of my life.

Good message, selfish delivery

Can absolutely get behind the concept of the book, but it's 25% discussion on the regrets, and 75% biography of the author. Disappointing.

Different perspective

This book is as much about personal growth and happiness as it is about the regrets of the dying. Wonderfully refreshing and positive. I did not agree with the author’s eastern spiritualism, but I still found things to learn that were helpful to me.

A great story with so many great lessons!

I love this book! I could not stop listening! Bonnie Ware's story and experiences are true to the heart and true to the soul! To hear the stories of the people living their last days, and the lessons for us to all learn by and for us to live our lives, is invaluable! Not only that, I really appreciate how Bonnie has summarized her life and this book in the last two chapters that leaves the reader with deeper meaning and deeper lessons! Beautifully written and well done!

Thought provoking

this book caused me to be very reflective. I thought it would only be about the five points, but it was also much so about her own life experiences. at the beginning of the book I thought the title was somewhat misleading, but after listening to her story along with the regrets she learned along the way I became appreciative of the life story she shared.
