Publisher's summary

The White Lich has conquered Tanar Atain.

Soon, he means to take the entire world. Dante suspects his next target will be Bressel, where the Tanarians have established their court in exile. The only chance to stop the lich will be to forge a fragile alliance between the bitter enemies of three different lands: Tanar Atain, Mallon, and Narashtovik.

The city stands on the brink of rebellion. Yet even if Dante, Blays, and Gladdic can unite it, they still might not have the strength to stand against the army of the lich.

One last hope may stop the coming destruction: the legendary Spear of Stars. But the weapon was lost long ago. To find it again, they may have to travel further than they've ever known.

I was not sure if this was going to be the last book. it is not. looks like we have more to come. this book keeps you. I hated to get out of the car. I think when I read it again. I will do it in two days. so I only have to put it down once. it was that good.

Enjoyable, just not as good

I love the series and have read every book, but this one was a bit hard to get through in the middle. There was a lot of monologuing which stopped the books rhythm. still a worthy read, but a bit of a letdown compared to the other books

great story that I'd love to finish but ends on a cliff hanger right after blaze says something exciting!

Another Great Addition

The Spear of Stars is another great addition to the Cycle of Arawn/Cycle of Galand series. The book offers some of the mainstays of the series, including banter between Dante and Blays, but offers new information on world. This background might leave listeners with more questions than answers. The bulk of the book is about fighting, which some other reviewers have noted as irksome in that Dante et al. are always 'this close' to losing the fight but somehow pull a win in the end. I can definitely understand this perspective but it didn't overwhelm what I enjoyed about the book.

Overall, I think it's another greater addition, if you've liked the rest of the series it's a pretty fair bet that you'll enjoy this one as well.

As enjoyable as the rest of the series has been.

Other than the glaring continuity problem early in the tower, the book was another good chapter of the series. I'm looking forward to starting up the next one tomorrow.

good book. better Narrator.

Genuinely one of the best Narrators in the game at the moment. Truly amazing. Not the best book in the series so far but still above others in the same genre.

Another great addition.

Wow. Just wow. Nailed it. There were a lot of twists and turns and I actually sat down, stopped what I was doing and just listened at the end.
