Publisher's summary

Ferrin is no ordinary blacksmith.

He is born with magic in a world where it’s not only feared, but outlawed. Struggling to keep food on the table, Ferrin decides to use his gift to aid in his work. That decision brings the Black Watch to his doorstep.

Caged alongside a helpless band of half-starved wielders, Ferrin formulates a strategy to escape. Armed with nothing more than his sarcastic wit and a determination to never give in, he attempts the impossible.

3rd time reading/listening to this book.

...and I NEVER get tired of this story.
Michael Wisehart and Tim GR , has made a spectacular story with compelling characters and "supercool" action.

The only "complaint" I have, is "waiting time" between the books. (...lol...)

The best thing is though, that in-between the Aldoran Chronicle story, Aryon and his "Street Rats of Aremor" , fulfill my empty days.
;-)

MICHAEL AND TIM!!!; YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!

Thank you for these stories ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Excellent Title!

The title tells it all. I never stopped listening from the start which cannot be said for most the books I listen to. Truly I was shackled to this listen which had quick character building, antagonistic adventuring, and one mesmerizing plot. Yup, I was shackled. Now I’ll go look for the sequel which is really the beginning book. Hope it lives up to the prequel!

Way too short!!!!

I thoroughly enjoy the story’s unfolding...Now what? The cliffhanger wasn’t cool! I must know how the story grows! Is it in the next book?

Interesting

Great plot and story line needed to be longer and explain history of magic and where they were being taken.

Enjoyable prequel.

Great for fans of the series. An enjoyable prequel showcasing some character background and author's/narrator's storytelling abilities, which are both top-notch.
