The world of Rale is being consumed by Nolost, the entity of destruction.

There are only days left to stop him, and only one man who can: the nethermancer Dante Galand. But the mentor who would have shown him how has just been slain by Nolost's armies.

With his last hopes fading, Dante hatches a mad plan: travel into the afterlife, find his dead mentor, and finish training in the ancient technique to kill the entity.

His friends, the blade master Blays and the sorcerer Gladdic, have been separated from him, but knowing Dante needs more time, they come up with a mad plan of their own. Nolost is attacking the secret heart of the world—and Blays and Gladdic mean to travel there and sabotage his work before it's complete. They know it will be a mission they won't return from.

But the war that has devastated the land of the living is exploding across the once-peaceful afterlife as well, threatening the missions of Dante and Blays alike. Time has run out. The final battle is upon them—and Rale's last champions may not get there in time to fight it.

The last book of The Cycle of Galand is here. Resolving secrets both old and new and culminating in an epic battle and its shocking aftermath, the grand story of Dante and Blays is now complete.

A solid conclusion to the series although my favorite part of the books was always Dante and Blays interactions and they spent much of the book separated. The plot itself was engaging and EWR always manages to make the baddie worse than the last, the situation more dire and helpless than before, and then finds a way to weasel the characters out of it in a clever way. Loved the series but still think the original trilogy was my favorite of them all. Jumping through all the different plains of existence was confusing at times, at least while listening. Congrats to the author

A satisfying ending

it's really long. but it's a good ending. about half way through I got kinda burnt out and had to take a break. Needed an editor with a hatchet to refine things a bit

Its long, but a good ending.

Dante and Blays are one of the best duos in literary history. Who knew that adding a third wheel would make the banter even better. One of the best endings I’ve read to an epic tail. Up there with the ending of The Wheel of Time and the original Mistborn trilogy.

My favorite ending of an Epic series!!!

I cannot emphasize how much I enjoyed the **spoiler** at the very end of the end with Dante.

Dante and Blaze are my favorite set of characters ever.
