Story
Cole Riker is a Slip Runner. A contractor tasked with finding alien salvage in exchange for credits. For an ex-smuggler like Cole, there’s a catch: Don’t break the terms of parole. That means doing things by the book. Find salvage, turn it in, get paid. But everything changes when a retrieval mission lands him in a previously unknown sector. There, he finds the material he’s been sent to recover, along with something more. A brand-new form of ancient alien life.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Publisher's summary
Set 16 years after the events of The Exiled Earthborn, this explosive conclusion of the Earthborn trilogy tells the story of two brothers, the sons of Lucas and Asha, tasked with surviving the Xalan war to ensure the continued existence of the human race.
Noah, an orphan from Earth's last days who, as a child, was smuggled to safety across the stars, is now nearly a man and a leader to the young enclave of Earthborn who reside on Sora. When the tranquility of their settlement is shattered by a shocking assassination attempt, Noah turns to his combative younger brother, Erik, Lucas and Asha's only child by blood, for aid. Their journey takes them to the remnants of a dead planet, an outlaw-infested space station, and back to Sora, whose inhabitants are bracing for a final showdown with the bloodthirsty Xalans.
They find themselves facing a new evil: the omnipotent Archon, who is somehow controlling the whole of the Xalan horde, and his bloodthirsty lieutenant, the Black Corsair, who has an unmatched taste for brutality. The Archon, so-called God of the Shadows, has unearthed knowledge that could wipe both Sorans and humans alike from the face of existence. The descendants of the Earthborn must uncover the true nature of the Archon and the Xalans before he burns everything they know and love to ashes.

Very entertaining
Great imagination; colorful story all the way through. I admit the beginning of this third book took a bit longer to develop as I was left disappointed by the main character's absence, but it evolves into a great furtherance of the initial story. Well worth a listen and the the narration was on point for all of the various characters.

WOW
I very much enjoyed this trilogy! The ending was fine and wrapped-up the series well. However, there COULD be a fourth book.
Are there gaps here and there? Sure, probably, but, as someone who hopes to live in the age of interstellar space travel, meeting new races, and likes super powers, this is perfect!

find me a book with a really good ending
I thought this was a great series I had some moments there where I can figure it out sometimes the voice gets a little low and you can't hear it which is a problem for me other than that this is a great story love it

Not a terrible ending
Overall, an amazing trilogy that you never would've expected to end here when you started the book.

Frustrating and rewarding
Extremely frustrating at times but also rewarding. I hope the Author will continue the story at some point.

One of the best series of books I've listened to and a great end to it but also left open for more stores which I would love to hear

Loved this entire series
From the beginning of the first book to the end of the third book, this book series continued to surprise me. When I first started listening to Book 1 The Last Exodus, I had no idea that it was a series. After the epic final battle there's a cliffhanger, just enough for me to log on to Audible and seek Book 2, The Exiled Earthborn. By the end of the Excellent 2nd book, I assumed the story was over. It ended so beautifully and soundly, I didn't think a sequel could do any justice. HOWEVER, I discovered a few months later that Book 3, The Sons of Sora, was available on Audible. Of course, I bought book 3 and couldn't believe how wonderful it all came together in the end. I thought for sure that book 3 would be a drop off from the first two books, however I was wrong. Paul Tassi did a great job! I hope to see more books from Tassi on Audible in the future!

Sons of Retcon.
while the trilogy was enjoyable I feel that that things could have definitely ended at the second book perhaps even at the first. this book literally undoes every single thing the last one accomplished.

good book series
The series was a bit slow to start but ended well. Enjoyed listening as each book brought more interest to the plot.
