About the Creator

Faith Hunter is the award-winning New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of three series: the Jane Yellowrock series, the Soulwood series, and the Rogue Mage series (all available on Audible). In addition, she has edited two anthologies set in the RM world and coauthored the Rogue Mage RPG. She is the coauthor and author of 16 thrillers under pen names Gary Hunter and Gwen Hunter. She sold her first book in 1989 and hasn’t stopped writing since. Altogether she has 40+ books and dozens of short stories in print and is always juggling multiple projects. Faith collects orchids and animal skulls, loves thunder storms, and writes. She likes to cook soup, bake bread, garden, and kayak Class III whitewater rivers. She makes jewelry and drinks a lot of tea. Some days she’s a lady. Some days she ain't.

About the Performer

Khristine Hvam is an award-winning audiobook narrator, producer, and director. Some of her works include TV/radio commercials, video games, animated series, and most notably, more than 300 audiobook titles. Hvam has been honored with four Audio Publishers Association Audie Awards. AudioFile Magazine has awarded her seven of its Earphones Awards, as well as Best Voices of the Year 2015 and 2017. She currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.

Faith has done it again, very interesting start to a very interesting new series ! Looking forward to more in the future ! This narrator has the perfect voice & diction for Faith’s stories !

I don't normally read sci-fi so take my review with a grain of salt, but as someone new to the genre I really enjoyed this one. I'm also a cat person so that probably helped.

The narrator was amazing! I appreciated all the different voices she did. The story was a little hard to follow only because it has a lot of terminology that was new to me (again, not a sci-fi reader normally) but I feel the author did a good job of getting things across.

I hope this is a series because while the ending wrapped things up fine, I kind of want to know what happens next. It sets it up for the potential of a sequel.

Author needs to look up the meaning of the word sentient. Otherwise the story was ok... a little tech heavy for my taste.

Good premise. Writing was a bit clunky. Preformance was ok. For a free title it was decent.

Overall an enjoyable book. as an intro it would not be a bad entry but I am glad it was a freebie as I would have been disappointed if I'd payed full price for it.
