clean romance with a bite

There is fat shaming and not just from outsiders. The wealth shaming. The story was clean with a very quick love you. The narrator is the job that was passable. The was a third person narration so expectation for clear distinct male and female was not expected. But a clearer distinction between characters was expected.

Great Read

The Dating Game (The Parker Sisters #2) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Ivy Parker is a nurse who quickly finds two men stepping up to date her. She must find out which one is Mr. Right. One of the men is a complete mystery and this dating game totally turns her world upside down. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

short but sweet

this story fooled me. I thought it was going to be like one of those stories about how Luke the bachelor and the contestants. nope not at all. just one girl and two guts. to me the choice would have been hands down for one of the guys and the other one wouldn't have even gotten a date. but in the end she makes the right choice and I agree with how her parents handled the situation .

so many insecurities

An insecure woman suddenly finds herself in the center of a pissing contest. She has a date with her coworker, a doctor at the hospital she works at. She also has had a meet-cute with a very hunky Chris, whom she met at her sister's wedding only days before. Chris is totally into Ivy Parker but she has some serious issues with her self esteem, something her family doesn't help. He wants her bad but she's dating the doctor and he knows the doctor is no good for her. I just love it when a man knows what he wants and goes for it. Chris was my jam. He quickly started his claim and told Ivy what the deal was. I didn't like how the doctor treated her with the backhanded compliments and the controlling ways. I also didn't enjoy hearing how disrespectful Ivy's open family was to her. Coming from a household that doesn't respect you, that pushes a few buttons. This is a slow burn but when it heats up it's… warm. I really felt for ivy through this story. It was a good one, not amazing but good.

Romance

An easy going fast-paced book for the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon full of romantic elements and a happy ending. I have to admit I haven't read the first book and I'm intrigued by the Parker's Sisters series.

Rapid Relationship

I liked Chris and Ivy. I wanted them to get together. This book just felt so brief to me. There wasn't much to either of their characters. I only got surface information about each of them. The only background information I got about Chris was from Ivy's father, and it was brief. Ivy had body issues, and sisters that were not so nice.

The sisters seem to interact with the parents, more like the sisters are all teenagers instead of 2 of then being grown women. Only 2 of the 4 sisters are teenagers. Its kind of strange

It wasn't that I disliked the story, it was more like there wasn't enough story. It was a very surface kind of experience. I don't understand all of this instalove. Chris and Ivy develop a relationship over maybe 3 or 4 days. They know NOTHING about one another, decide they are in love and make these major commitments.

I kind of understood why Chris didn't tell Ivy about the doctor's intentions, but I don't understand why her sister, Naomi didn't tell her. The sisters aren't even close enough to share what's going on in their lives with on another.

The narration was ok. The story left me wanting. I am a big fan of this author. Some of her other books seemed to have so much more depth and detail to them.

I listened to this book, and it was only a little over 3.5 hours. The narration was ok. I would recommend you read this book and judge for yourself. I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the audio version of this book received from the author.

The Parker Sisters a fantastic family dynamic!!!

I own and have read the entire Parker Sisters (boxed set) series and love the fantastic family dynamic of the entire family. Ivy and Chris are my favorite couple and I want to know more about them. With this book I have (through audible) listened to the entire series too. Thank you Lorhainne for your wonderful choice of narrators, they have truly made listening to this series very enjoyable. I am now ready to move on to book 6 and the wedding plans for 3 of these fantastic sisters.

Good listen.

Good addition to the series
A sweet slow burn romance with HEA. I really love Mr Parker, he is so cool. I enjoyed listening to this audio book. It has a nice plot the kept engaged but i think it ended is a bit abrupt, just like the first book. They could do with a epilogue.

Feels like half a book

Short, sweet and an easy listen.
I felt like I only got part of the story.
What happens once Chris is settled?
What does he do for work?
I think I have more questions after listening to this story than when I went into it.

Relatable circumstances

I have to say that Ivy is my favourite sister as clearly she was the one with the least going for her.

Lovely narration of the woes and tribulations of Ivy and the Parker family that will leave you wanting to be a part of this very close knit family. I really hope to find out more how Chris and Ivy fair in the other books in the series.
