Rapid Relationship

I liked Chris and Ivy. I wanted them to get together. This book just felt so brief to me. There wasn't much to either of their characters. I only got surface information about each of them. The only background information I got about Chris was from Ivy's father, and it was brief. Ivy had body issues, and sisters that were not so nice. The sisters seem to interact with the parents, more like the sisters are all teenagers instead of 2 of then being grown women. Only 2 of the 4 sisters are teenagers. Its kind of strange It wasn't that I disliked the story, it was more like there wasn't enough story. It was a very surface kind of experience. I don't understand all of this instalove. Chris and Ivy develop a relationship over maybe 3 or 4 days. They know NOTHING about one another, decide they are in love and make these major commitments. I kind of understood why Chris didn't tell Ivy about the doctor's intentions, but I don't understand why her sister, Naomi didn't tell her. The sisters aren't even close enough to share what's going on in their lives with on another. The narration was ok. The story left me wanting. I am a big fan of this author. Some of her other books seemed to have so much more depth and detail to them. I listened to this book, and it was only a little over 3.5 hours. The narration was ok. I would recommend you read this book and judge for yourself. I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the audio version of this book received from the author.

The Parker Sisters a fantastic family dynamic!!!

I own and have read the entire Parker Sisters (boxed set) series and love the fantastic family dynamic of the entire family. Ivy and Chris are my favorite couple and I want to know more about them. With this book I have (through audible) listened to the entire series too. Thank you Lorhainne for your wonderful choice of narrators, they have truly made listening to this series very enjoyable. I am now ready to move on to book 6 and the wedding plans for 3 of these fantastic sisters.

Love the Parker Sisters

This story is wonderful and heartwarming, the series just gets better and better. I loved Ivy's story. She meets Chris at her sisters wedding and their relationship grows despite all the obstacles that get in their way. I can’t wait to listen to the other sisters stories.

This got all of my emotions involved.

The Dating Game is the second book in the Parker Sisters series. You could probably read this without reading book one first, but I think you'll enjoy them more if you read the series in order. I'll start off with the narration. Teri Clark Linden has narrated a few other books by Ms. Eckhart. She really does a wonderful job and made listening to this story very enjoyable. I'm really picky about female narrators and she is one of the good ones. I really loved this story. Ivy feels like she doesn't measure up to her sisters – her two older ones are now married – and she's self-conscious about her weight (she's – //sarcastic OMG// – a size 12) and hasn't dated anyone in a while. She now finds herself being pursued by a doctor at the hospital where she works and a man (Chris) she met at her sister's wedding. She gets very confused about her feelings for both men and it takes her a while to realize which one is right for her. Chris is attracted to Ivy and is very disturbed to overhear her sisters saying unkind things about her weight. He wants to date her but he won't play second chair to the doctor who also wants to date her. Chris has his own business and things aren't going well. This complicates things between him and Ivy and he decides to step back. Even though it makes me a bit sad that at a size 12 Ivy is considered to be plump, I love that Chris thinks she is perfect just the way she is and lets her sisters have it when he hears them saying negative things about her size. Everything doesn't go smoothly for Ivy and Chris but they get their HEA in the end and this is my favorite book in the series so far. A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at no cost but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. #HappyEnding #Heartfelt #FemaleProtagonist #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

A good addition to the series

The second story of the series takes us back to Wyoming and the Parker sisters. This time it’s Ivy’s story. She is a maternity ward nurse, with some self image insecurities due to her weight. At her sister’s Taz wedding she meets Chris, a friend of the groom. Chris is a hard working man, rough around the edges and one with whom attraction is immediate. Overnight Ivy, who never had dates, ends up with two, one with hard working Chris and another with a very polished doctor. This one with ulterior motives. It’s a story about family , relationships, life’s ups and downs, and about following one’s heart. Also a reminder that what people say to someone , even in jest, does in fact affect how they see themselves. Another entertaining story in this series. I wish to say also, that the narrator of the audiobook, Teri Clark Linden , does a very good job with the different voices in the story. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Relatable circumstances

I have to say that Ivy is my favourite sister as clearly she was the one with the least going for her. Lovely narration of the woes and tribulations of Ivy and the Parker family that will leave you wanting to be a part of this very close knit family. I really hope to find out more how Chris and Ivy fair in the other books in the series.
