Ridiculous, but fun

really enjoyed this except for the extremely overt political commentary. not that i care about the commentary, it was so pointed though it became a detractor. otherwise really enjoyed this ridiculous romp of a book.

Most Unlikely Hero Ever!

I just finished listening to this and am not quite sure what hit me.

Larry Correia has invented the most unlikely hero ever: an insurance agent dedicated to satisfying his customers' insurance needs because poor customer service is the ultimate sin. If you can suspend your disbelief and wrap your mind around THAT wild idea, you are in for an equally wild ride.

Garfield the Cat is a Dark God, Bear Grylls is a metric, Chuck Norris is a KickA** Arbiter and Terminators are people too. Many of our favorite sci-fi heroes and shows make cameo appearances, including the author himself.

Of course the hero has his burden to bear: the intern with the gender-studies degree. But Tom Stranger carries on with panache.

Adam Baldwin was terrific. You need to listen to this. Now.

Someone owes me a new keyboard

This is the funniest thing I've heard in years, and Adam Baldwin's performance only makes it better. His mastery of the Manatee language is unparalleled. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to it again.

Laughed my Head Off

I thought this was hilarious. It could be that it matched my sense of humor really well. There are a lot of references and inside jokes that not everyone will get but, if you like slapstick and sarcastic humor, you'll like this.

My first Audible original and couldn't be happier

I signed up for the Audible free trial literally the day before this was available as one of the two free Audible originals. For me Audible could not have picked a better freebie to introduce me to the service, so that I would continue to pay the monthly subscription when my free trial is over. Always wanted to listen to Tom Stranger. Larry Correia always entertains. I had no idea Adam Baldwin was so talented. I could see in my mind's eye R. Lee Ermey as SecDef the entire time.

Funny but a little over the top

Not sure if right wing or right wing satire. Funny though. Thick skins required to enjoy the book. Sounds like Sean Hannity hired someone with a sense of humor. Much eye rolling along the way.

Insurance of the future

This was a fabulous romp through the space time continuum. Adam Baldwin was spot on as the narrator and brought a lot of fun and verve to the story. I do not want to spoil this in any way because there are so many twists and turns that you just have to hold on for the ride. Get this book- you will not regret it in any of the various timelines!

A "pun"ishing adventure

It wasn't my cup of tea, but I did find myself laughing out loud at some of the insults. Glad it was free.

Snark, fun, and monsters...all in a day's work!

The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent by Larry Correia and narrated by Adam Baldwin is a corny but funny short audible book. Tom Stranger is a insurance agent you definitely want to have. Some how he ends up with a new partner afraid of his shadow. Meanwhile chaos and mayhem continues on many dimensions. It is silly, snarky, and funny. Adam Baldwin does a great job and is featured in the story, ummmm, how did that happen? Stranger things have happened!

Superb Laugh Out Loud High-Speed, Utter Absurdity!

This one does exactly what it says on the tin, if you like the sound of the publisher’s blurb you are going to love it. Inter-space hi jinks and an insurance agent super hero. The humour is constant. The opening scenes had me laughing from the get go and the laughter continued with impressively high frequency for the whole two hours.

If you get this kind of humour then it’s great fun and Master Correia drags in many well-known personalities and even finds time to poke fun at himself in a variety of ways. One person that definitely gets the humour is Adam Baldwin who gives it the full Scooby Doo and no mistake!

Nothing is sacred, most of Europe and Asia is gone within the first ten minutes and everyone from John Wayne to a Balrog gets dragged in during this all-too-brief adventure. The Balrog’s “predicament” I found seriously funny along with the help system on the Combat Wombat!

On top of all that it’s free, at least for now! What can possibly go wrong? If you want a laugh just get it. The only people I wouldn’t recommend this to are call centre managers . . .

Brilliant and Witty with brain on or off :)

So having listened to some pretty heavy sci-fi recently i really needed someone lighter to listen to and this appeared so i though i would give it a try. I was hooked from the start. Its very very very funny on a lot of levels and you really dont need to plug your brain in to listen. Not that its not clever.

I would recommend this for anyone who likes things likes things like Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy or Any of the Jim Butcher books.

Review by sample. Better than the sample.

Its hard to have a fun dumb and witty comedy. This does it. Dumb is not an insult. I love dumb comedy. I like witty comedy. Ignore my story rating. This is not a story driven book. Go for James Clavell if that's your thing.

Easy Listening

Choose to listen to this to get a break from the usual Fantasy and Sci-Fi epics that are my usual ear food. I wasn't disappointed, it's great fun with a lot off nerdy humour that fits me perfectly. A bit short though, but well worth the modest price.

Overall, more than adequate

Loved the humor, but the story/plot lost my interest for a bit in the middle. Did draw me back with referencing MHI, fans and concealed weapons.
