First half good

The first three short stories from Larry are satirical and full of wit. The performance of Baldwin is superb.

Then we get to a diatribe focusing less on any story lines and solely on Larry’s political leanings, if you’re into politics that’s fine. I do not like politics in my satire about insurance, I’ve always strived to separate my insurance based sarcasm from my politically minded facetiousness. I was unimpressed.

The first two books with two new books added in.

The ILOH (Larry Correia) wrote another great addition to the Tom Stranger Universe. It now includes the first two books with two additional books added in. Adam Baldwin does an amazing job as always bringing Tom to life.

Funny at Times and Irritating at Others

Kind of a funny set of stories, but much of the zing is lost on the author's trumpian story line that appears at times. These stories could have been so much better without mixing in divisive politics. I felt slimed by it.

Thank you, Tom Stranger!

(This product contains previously published stories and new adventures -- this review focuses on the new stories)

After two re-writes, I must admit there is no way to write this review without giving spoilers that are either too obtuse or enter spoiler territory.

(get ready to meet Me-Maw, Jim, Boney, and many others...)

Adam Baldwin as performer is, of course, great -- but seemed to be off a half step compared to other entries.

I will say that any negative reviews are likely from Dolphin-bot accounts, so please consider them appropriately...

Funniest Series Ever

I thoroughly enjoyed every second, ever reference, ever pun and diss to all political parties. This series was utterly fantastic and the narration beyond exemplary. Please let there be more like this for it saddens my heart that there may be no more adventures in excellent customer service, when we need it most. Top marks all around.

Starts really good but then devolves

I, unfortunately, am not able to give this a 10/10 in customer service. I originally wanted to, but as the book went on, I found myself unable to do so. The first book in this collection is rather entertaining. It's a silly irreverent sci-fi romp and I had quite a lot of fun with it. Tom Stranger is quite an amusing, absurd character and it was entertaining seeing where it went. However, here's the problem: when one of your central jokes is satirizing people who believe that people should only be able to make fun of political viewpoints they disagree with, the author then turning around and spending half of their book throwing nasty jibes and making fun of only political viewpoints they disagree with rather neuters your humour and turns the whole thing rather preachy.

The author clearly is a fan of Libertarian ideologies and appears to believe that anyone who doesn't ascribe to such ideologies is silly and illogical, just like the people who he makes fun of in this very book. He then makes fun of anyone who points out this discrepancy, pointing out late night television, SNL and South Park doing the same thing he does. The difference between this and those is that SNL and South Park are famously equal opportunity offenders whereas this seems to be only making fun of anyone the author doesn't agree with, which, again, is exactly the type of person being made fun of in this very story.

The somewhat lengthy political diatribes also do not add anything to the story, which is a wacky space romp about an inter-dimensional insurance agent. If this was a political satire or thriller or something of that sort, that would be one thing, but it's not. So hearing constant jabs against [insert topical political event here] in the middle of our hero blasting someone's face off with a laser in order to save a hyper-intelligent space manatee is misplaced and distracting at the very least.

It's a shame because the story started rather promisingly and there are some genuine laughs and good times to be had here, but the author soapboxing really drags it down and it only gets worse as the story progresses.
