Story
Hiram Granville, a modern Leonardo, secured more than a thousand patents during his lifetime, often just ahead of others who had already been working on the same ideas. His son, John, an economics genius, never lost a cent in the stock market—or any other financial deal—and was investigated for insider trading on more than one occasion. Now Cat, a documentarian; her researcher, Mercy; and Cracker Jack, an electronics whiz, are doing a film about the Granville clan. What they find as they research the family is madness, suicide, and a frightening glimpse about what it means to peer into the future.

Publisher's summary
Lee Donne has an eidetic memory that maintains a visual representation of everything she's ever seen. Unfortunately, this gift hasn't helped her in college, where she spent four years drifting from major to major. With no degree or job prospects, Lee is relieved to be house-sitting her grandfather's isolated Oregon home. But her stay soon becomes a nightmare when she is tormented by strange and menacing noises at night.
Determined to track down the haunting sounds, Lee finds their source: a young man who is accidentally killed during the course of her investigation. The man knew that Lee's grandfather would be away. But what was he looking for? Searching for answers, Lee discovers an envelope full of old photographs - men in white hooded robes, her grandmother, a man hanging from a tree. Was her family connected to the Ku Klux Klan?

In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. Story
This gripping fictional true crime podcast delves into the story of the enigmatic Dorian Gray, a vigilante who changed the world, rewriting history in the blood of her victims. Her targets were the titans of their era—billionaires, movie stars, politicians. Dorian said they had one thing in common: they had all committed crimes against women. They were rapists, abusers, master manipulators. Dorian left evidence of their heinous offenses with their bodies, and then she vanished without a trace.

Story
Emma is the one that got away. The only survivor of a serial killer known in the tabloids as “The Hairdresser”, because of the trophies he takes from his victims. The police aren't convinced. Nor is her husband. She never actually saw her tormentor properly, but now she recognizes him in every man she sees. Haunted by the horrifying incident and unwanted notoriety, Emma gives up her job as a psychiatrist and retreats from the outside world to recuperate at home, where it’s quiet. Where she can be anonymous and safe. Where no one can hurt her.

Sooooooo bad
I usually love a Kate Wilhelm book, but this one I can’t even get through. At first I thought the issue was poor reading but 6 or 7 chapters in and I’m throwing in the towel!!
