Publisher's Summary

Dante and Blays have forced Gladdic from the Collen Basin. But the victory might be only the first battle in a much larger war. With the land on the brink of starvation and politically fractured, Dante and Blays scramble to secure Collen's food, borders, and allies. Before their work is done, rumor arrives from Mallon. The enemy is mustering for another attack.

Even if Collen can weather the coming storm, there's no guarantee their independence will last out the year. During a border raid, Dante learns Gladdic has fled to the shadowy realm of Tanar Atain, home of the Andrac.

And the secrets Gladdic returns with could tip the balance of power forever.

    "One of the best series"

I stumbled upon Dante and Blays out of sheer luck 2 years ago, I've listened to the cycle of arawn many times, along with the first two books in the cycle of galand series, it's a exciting story with great twist and turns that keeps you on the edge of your sit waiting for what happens next. I can't wait for the fourth book and continue this adventure. Going back for another listen now!!

    "Always love the "Cycles of""

I used to not be a fan of audio books, I'd rather have a hard copy in my hands - feverishly turning the pages... however, the duo that narrator and author make has me absolutely hooked on this series, as I was hooked on the previous. Job well done, both of you. I am so glad that I saved my credits for this and was very excited by the authors note at the end.

One of my favorite series. I'm very excited for the continuation. The cynical and sarcastic banter between Dante and Blaze relates so similar to relations I have! So well done! Can't wait for the next!

    "Absolute Genius"

Forget Batman and Robin, this is the dynamic Duo! The writing is as good as it gets. Unbelievable evolving story going back to the first cycle. Should be a series of movies but would be a larger undertaking than LOTR. Author is one of my favorites. Reynolds is a superb narrator. I've even started buying anything he lends his voice to. He makes these fantastic books come totally alive.

I'd put these books right up there with LOTR, Game of Thrones, and King's epic Dark Tower series, and I'm not sure I wouldn't put these at the front of the pack. Amazing!

    "just yes"

the only thing I didn't like was when the book ended. this is the only series that I've ever read (or listened to) that has captivated me to a point where I forget that I'm not in that world. when something grabs my attention IRL, it's as if I'm being forcibly snapped back to reality. can I do 6/5? I'm gonna say 6/5. cannot wait until the next one. felt palpable despair knowing I was at the end of the book.

"This series and this author are hidden gems."

The first cycle takes roughly half a book to get going, but its well worth the wait as soon as the relationship between Andre and Blaze (disregard the names for now, they grow on you) forms. From there on out it is a fantastic series that continually blurs the lines between good and evil. This second series does not fall short by any means, and helps build a world that is truly fascinating. It feels very much like buddycop fantasy, much in the same way as Scott Lynch or Michael Sullivan create with their series. Just the right amount of brutality, without going so far overboard that it feels like he's trying too hard to be edgy.

"What A Book! What a series!"

I have to say without a doubt that these books are some of the best I have ever heard. The stories are so captivating and as I listen I utterly enjoy every single moment not wanting it to end. The characters are so likeable that after listening to these three books they all seem like my old friends. I hope these books keep coming for many many more years so I can continue to enjoy more and more tales. Thank you so much Edward W. Robertson for being such an incredible writer.

"Very good, but some storytelling leaps."

I enjoyed this book very much. however, there are a number of leaps in the story which are a bit... questionable; new enemies and the like.
I look forward to the following books on the series to see how it pans out.
still incredible however, but not as incredible as those previous to it.

    "A gripping story"

It's hard to write a review on a 'Cycle' that is halfway through it's tale but I will try my best and concentrate just on this story without giving away the plot

If you have come to this book as a stand alone 'read' I really think you should start again with the 'Cycle of Arawn' and then continue with the 'Cycle of Galland' - for those of you who have done this here goes. This for me is the best so far. The story was a lot better paced and the newish characters melded into the storyline seamlessly. I actually swore out loud when the book ended - it is saying the next book should be spring 2017 which is now so I hope the Audible version is not far behind it.

Talking of Audible - every time I review a book where Tim Gerard Reynolds is the performer he gets 5 stars. The man is just brilliant at knowing just when to take a breath or slightly raise his voice. I know that here in the UK when Audible asks who does a good performance people rate Stephen Fry and others like him but as far as I am concerned TGR is the best out there - I am sure Edward W Robertson agrees.

Anyway to end - brilliant story and storytelling - fast pace from beginning to end - just can't wait for book 4 😆

I've read some of the reviews about Galand and his adventures and agree with some of the less favorable to a point, but I still want to find out what happens next. I'm not in tge habit of over analysing like some, I just let the story entertain me as it should.
