Publisher's Summary

The Eternal Emperor Shinzan continues to gather his strength. And the power he will unleash is beyond the imaginings of the spirits themselves. No army can stand against him. There is only one who can give Lumnia the freedom she has craved for so long. Only one who can save the world from being consumed by the Emperor's evil. But will it be Ethan who faces him? Or will it be Martok?

Back Story on Martok

Would you consider the audio edition of Dragonvein: Book Four to be better than the print version?

Yes, the narrator makes this book so much more lively when he reads it.

Would you recommend Dragonvein: Book Four to your friends? Why or why not?

I would say that to continue the series you must listen to this. I am not as sure if the next one will be worthwhile but if it isn't I will likely stop following this series.

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great as all of his performances. He is one of the two top narrators that I listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Usually the answer would be yes but I wasn't as entertained by going backwards in the story and focusing a lot of time on Martok's history.

A tangent

A well written and performed story. It seemed to have a rather long tangent from the main story, a lot of backstory. Overall I've enjoyed the series and even this book 4. I look forward to the fifth installment.

A very enjoyable series; Awaiting book 5

I have enjoyed this series very much!

The story is a tad formulaic, and thus somewhat predictable. But otherwise, there was sufficient action and intrigue to hold my interest throughout. I was surprised and slightly disappointed to find the cliff-hanger at the conclusion of this book. I agree with some other reviewers that there should really have been no need for a fifth book. But I'll be adding it to my library once it is available.

The narration is top-notch! Derek Perkins is truly gifted, and he gave a performance here that would be hard to beat.

I recommend this series highly.

Good book

It was a good book and I really enjoyed it. However, this is just my opinion, but it really could have done without all the sex type stuff. At one point I wasn't sure if I could make it and I was starting to get a bit miffed about it. It does eventually stop. Despite this it is a good book. I am looking forward to the next book and I will definitely get it to see what happens next. I'd recommend this book.

Really good book

I really like the book series, saying the narrative is excellent is an under statement.

interesting but....

good story but would have been a better side book. not much of it has to do with what I would consider the original story line. still good character background info.

The Dragonvein is connected to the Dragonheart

Would you consider the audio edition of Dragonvein: Book Four to be better than the print version?

I would. I read 54% of the printed version and then one day i put it down and didn't pick it back up. When i got the audible version I finally finished it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dragonvein: Book Four?

The battle finally starts and history is known. We now wait for the conclusion.

Which character – as performed by Derek Perkins – was your favorite?

Marcus

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Another episode in Ethan's journey

This 4th book in the Dragonvein series lived up to expectations, following on from the 3 previous books. Will be buying the 5th in the series when available.

Dragonvein book 4

Sorry but the story went nowhere, characters were shallow and it just felt like a money making episode. Will not be continuing with anymore in this series. Shame as 1,2 and 3 were very much engrossing.
