Great story but slow to build

Absolutely inadequate hero retribution, The story takes a very very long time to build. The villain, throughout 95% of it (I mean all three books) is the winner and successful, while the hero and the heroin spend that 95% struggling falling, failing coming up short, pretty much up into the end they have small little victories here and there but nothing of substance in the grand scheme. Honestly if I had to read this one book at a time I would have probably stopped at the first book, it's a good thing I purchased the entire trilogy. But then The hero and heroine win briefly and with very little celebration and then it's over... The villain does not suffer nearly enough!... not nearly enough!!! I can't stress this enough!!!!!! The villain in my opinion throughout this whole thing front to back wins, And then wins again, And when you think he's lost he wins, And then he loses but in actuality he has won! That part of the story is an absolute failure by the author.

Halfway....this may be my favorite audio book ever

At about the halfway point, this is fantastic. I have been let down by so many books that have lured me in, only to go "woke" or ridiculous. This feels different. The narrator puts you squarely into the story, you can't resist. It's not a girl power story, it's harsh. The harshness makes it more triumphant and real. it's gritty. Loving this book!

Not for me

Spoiler alert: I liked the story for a while, then when it continued to be tragic I began to like it less. I especially didn’t like the ending. That’s my preference though, many people will like this story and will be happy with the ending.

how unfair life get with greedy people and what power does to innocent people. justice was hard in this story but well deserved

The narrator's reading was absolutely engaging. Kudos to him for doing justice to this spellbinding story.
