Good but not great

This was a good story and I liked the characters. I liked the concept of the story but it was short and felt it. Go in to it expecting an insta-love situation as the story takes place in about a 24 hour period.

Tina is a nurse and a strong , caring woman. Her mother died in childbirth and her father wasn't known so she ended up in the foster system her whole life. Because of this she's never had anyone to rely on and worked hard to make a life for herself, putting herself through nursing school and becoming the best nurse at her hospital. One night when she's sent tot he scene of a fire to help out, her whole life changes.

Ethan is a half demon/half angel mix. His parents were killed by another demon that hated mixed marriages and half-breeds. The demon then cursed Ethan so that any woman he loved would suffer a horrible fate. Since Ethan's demon half is a lust demon, he must have sex to satisfy the needs from that half but he only gives each woman one night, knowing he can't fall in love or he'll doom the woman he loves. He never thought he could fall in love with someone after just spending a few hours with the woman.

Ethan and Tina meet at the scene of a fire and feel an attraction to each other. Ethan seduces her but only intends them to have sex and then he'll move on. Her touch affects him more than any other woman's though and he finds he want to stay and hold her afterwards instead of leaving as soon as they're done. When he stays he realizes that he's falling for Tina and leaves. When Tina wakes up, she's upset that Ethan has gone but figures he's just like everyone else in her life...someone she can't count on. She can't help but feel hurt though, since she really felt a connection to him and thought he felt it too. They end up meeting again and Ethan tells her about the curse and Tina realizes it's already affecting her as she's feeling bad. They think all is lost but the bad guy that put the curse on Ethan shows up, wanting to gloat over his victory and to attempt to take both of them out. Much drama ensues but things work out and Ethan and Tina end up being able to start their HEA.

This was an enjoyable story but I'll admit it felt a bit rushed. I liked the characters and the story was alright but some of the story points didn't come together in a totally believable way (I did have a few unanswered questions at the end). This was the first book I've read by this author. Based on this book I may be willing to try more of her work in the future.

* note - The narrator did fine. Her men's voice wasn't the greatest but I've heard much worse and it wasn't bad enough to mess up the story.
