Symphony of Light and Winter, Book #1

A paranormal series from 2016 Audie Award Winners - Renea Mason, Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard.

Love never dies, but sometimes it plays dead.

For Linden Hill, life was predictable - go to work, an occasional drink with friends, and repeat - until one unexpected night when she finds herself face-to-face with her past - all six-foot-five-inches of sex-god perfection she once knew as Cyril. The problem? He died. Or so she thought.

But Linden's long-lost love isn't welcoming her with open arms. Fueled by suspicion and doubt, their turbulent re-acquaintance drives Cyril to desperate acts. The chance at renewing their love is jeopardized, pulling Linden into his war with supernatural rivals hell-bent on his destruction.

Defeating the enemy seems easy compared to surviving each other. With hunger threatening to consume them, and love begging to endure, can Linden learn to accept who she must become to save them both?

"Sexy, fun and so creative it makes my head spin! I'd read the damn phone book if Renea Mason wrote it." - Bestselling author Robyn Peterman

Symphony of Light and Winter had suspense, action, romance, an abundance of steam, and lots of attitude. It will grab your attention right away and keep it until the end. There will be no setting this one aside. Not a chance!" – (Crazy for Books)

"Renea Mason's book has everything you could want--a unique world, ...a gripping plot, and seamless writing..." - (Book Bliss)

5 freaking HOT stars.

This book has it all mystery, suspense and it will burn you from the inside out!

Linden Hill is different but doesn't really know why. She isn't your timid shy girl oh no, she has grit and balls. I really enjoyed getting to know her. I love her profanity!

Cyril was more a mystery. I really wasn't a fan of his till near the end of the book, than he eventually grew on me. You kind of love to hate him. You will see when you read the book.

The narration on this book is by far one of my most favorites, her laugh made me laugh. And don’t even get me started on his voice. Holy moly.. And the sexy scenes I felt like a voyeur!!! I couldn't get enough of Noah & Erin, I will be on the lookout for more books narrated by them.

Just how I like my romance I tell ya, I am no stranger to paranormal that’s for sure but it’s not your normal paranormal and that was awesome it was fresh and fun to read.
I want to read the rest of this series now I can’t get enough I want no that s to timid a word NEED to know what happens.

Overton… and Michael I want to know where this is going. I kind of have a soft spot for Overton, even though he didn't want to be gentlemen he totally was and scored points in my book for that. Who says chivalry and honor is dead not I that is for dang sure.

Here is a quote or 3 I loved

“Come on you beautiful disgusting creature.” - Haha oh Cyril the flattery

“There must be love to make love” – Truth!

“It was need, Linden. I don’t want to need anything. I can make. I can destroy. Need implies something controls me and nothing controls me.” – Cyril you will understand in time.

Worth a credit worth the money it’s worth it all.

Wonderful New Series, Very Unique!

I need to start by saying that I LOVED this book!!!! It was different from any other PNR I've read before! The characters are realistic, bad ass, loving and flawed! The story was a little confusing but in a good way and enough to make me not want to stop until I knew every detail!!! Cyril is hot, possessive and seriously devoted to his friends & Linden!!! Linden is a little lost but still very tough especially considering her past. Together these two are off the charts hot, they are a seriously powerful couple and their relationship is the definition of destiny!!!

The action, suspense, angst and romance/sex in this book was perfect!!!! I loved that the characters were all weaved into each others lives over and over again! I also enjoyed the "past" chapters, It made the story so much better for me to get the back story in a memory rather than an explanation. I love the twist in the end and can't wait for book 2!

The narration is incredible! Noah & Erin have a chemistry that made these characters walk right out of this book and into my heart! The voices Noah gave to Cyril, Overton & Michael made it seem like three different men were narrating! (Michael's voice was my favorite).

This is my 3rd Renea Mason book & seconds Noah/Erin narration and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all! I will read ANYTHING Renea writes and listen to ANYTHING Noah & Erin narrate together!

THIS IS A MUST LISTEN AUDIOBOOK!

Well done

I am so glad this book is finally in audio. The narration team did a phenomenal job with voicing the characters. DeWard did a spot-on Linden, and Levine moved easily from the snotty Overton to the gruff and perpetually angry Cyril. Symphony was the first book I ever read by this author, and I've read all of her books, since. The inclusion of Imposter's Kiss was a nice addition. Great job to all involved in this project. You nailed it!

I'M REALLY TORN HERE!!!

Would you listen to Symphony of Light and Winter again? Why?

Idk...maybe I need too when I am in a better mood...this was not a fave for me...and I am disappointed because I love Renea so much!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Symphony of Light and Winter?

I am going to say when Linden meets Cyril again...she was like WHAT?

What does Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I did not care for this narration...it was overly dramatic on Erin's part...the laughing was a little maniacal at times and it was a bit uncomfortable to listen to at times...I know I am probably going to get lynched but I will not lie...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

not really...

Any additional comments?

I am going to end this on a positive note....this was a very very creative story...I think I need to let it process in my brain a bit more...and I liked the characters and the concept...Renea is an excellent writer, and the sexy scenes were HOT AF!!! I already have book 2 in my library so I will be continuing the series later this month...Duet narration is an awesome experience...and although the narrators didn't blow me away in this one...they are still one of my fave teams...and I have listen to them in other things that I absolutely could not get enough of...

A MUST LISTEN FOR ANY MASON FAN!!!

A story of friendship

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to a friend that was open to reading not only a fabulous story but some very hot steamy scenes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Linden was definitely my favorite character mainly because we got to feel so much of her emotion.

What does Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration team made this audio book for me they could not have done a better job of bringing those characters to life it was a beautiful marriage of words and reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of both

Any additional comments?

Well worth the listen.

This Is The One You Want

Having read the ebook first, I didn't think audio would add to the experience but I was so wrong. I'm glad I tried! The narrators add real depth to the characters that my mind washed over as I tore through the book. I sure do like Clarence more than I did in the book. Cyril is sexy as hell and larger than life. Linden is sassy and as in charge of her life as one can be around supernatural men. :) The two have immediate chemistry and the narrators really bring that out. I listened to it while at work and had to keep the volume down even though I use headphones, it's that steamy. Excellent narrative, excellent writing and characterization. <3

Any additional comments?

Wow I'm just speechless. I 💜 Symphony of Light and Winter. The back and forth banter between Lindel and Cyril was amazing. The narrator's did an awesome job. Between the writing an the narrator's I felt like I was watching it plan out on the big screen. And the ending left me screaming for more👏👏👏

Spectacular

I had read this book before I listened to it and I have to say that listening brought it to a whole new level. I loved this book. Cyril and his family are bigger than life in their otherworldly way. The story takes Linden and Cyril on a journey through so many trials. You learn so many things about how their lives have intertwined. Amazing story.
Noah Michael Levine does a phenomenal job with all the accents and the story. He brings Cyril and the other characters to life.
Erin Deward did a phenomenal job also. She brought out Linden's tough and soft side brilliantly.
I would highly recommend this author and narrators. They are great.

Best audiobook yet!

I loved this book! This audio book performance is the best I have heard yet! The dual narrators Noah Miachael Levine and Erin deWard give a stunning performance making me feel like I am really there watching as the story unfolds. The performance is heart felt and filled with emotions, so much so that you can even hear one of the narrators crying.

This story is the most fantastic paranormal read I have ever read! It has danger, suspense, romance, lots of steamy hot sex and loads of emotions. The author, Renea Mason is a superb writer and can tell a story that is always one of a kind. The narrators as awesome as they are, are explosive when they read material written by Ms Mason.

If this book doesn't win an audie award, I don't know what will as this story combined with the performances can keep anyone warm and comforted. Even if you read this book in eBook format, it comes to life like a whole new story when read in audio format. The bonus story, Impostor's kiss is even more incentive to read this book. What a wonderful surprise this was!!!

Extraordinary Narration!

Wow the narration in this audiobook was extraordinary. I wish all audiobooks could be done with duet narration! Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard did an outstanding job with all the voices. Noah hit all the accents spot on and they both were excellent showing emotion when needed. I just can’t say enough about how I enjoyed their narration. The story itself began rather peculiar. It was like there was something missing from the story that we didn’t know about and I kept wondering if I was listening to book two instead of book one at first. Unfortunately I just couldn’t connect with Linden the main female character. I didn’t find her likable at all. Also there was so much angst throughout the story between Linden and Cyril, to the point of frustration. It just didn’t feel romantic to me. On the plus side, the book was certainly well written, unique and creative. From all the five star reviews I am obviously in the minority of those who didn’t enjoy it, so if you enjoy unique paranormal, steamy books this may be one for you, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Though it ended on a cliffhanger I didn’t enjoy it enough to want to listen to the next books in the series, which is unfortunate because I really enjoyed the narrators tremendously. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer 🎧
