Lies

Mig's wife is a bitch. How else do you describe a woman that lies, cheats, and steals to get what she wants? That's exactly what happens when she traps him into a marriage he wants nothing to do with, saddling him with a kid.

He's doing a bang-up job at ignoring everything but his responsibilities as a DEA officer and a member of the Uncertain Saints MC. Then his neighbor knocks on his door, and everything he thought he knew is blown out the window.

Deceit

Annie teaches Mig that not every woman is out to get him. Her love for Mig stretches past what's appropriate for two friends, and Annie soon straddles that invisible boundary between appropriate and inappropriate.

Annie's not a cheater, though. When she tries to say good-bye, Mig won't let her leave, and soon the tiny town of Uncertain blows up with the news of Annie and Mig's innocent friendship.

They both did an Amazing Job bringing the Character to life .. Hope they do more Lani Books .. ❤️

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Birth of Migs Son... How he came about .. Not so good but the Story to the end ... Awesome ❤️

bad ass takes on a new meaning

these books have my heart and shows just how bad ass the women are in them. Anne loves Mig and stands by him through everything his ex wife can throw at them with a smile on her face

Lani Lynn Vale never disappoints her listeners!

Another wonderful book! Fell in love with Mig and Annie! love that Lani Lynn Vale touches on subjects that few writers delve into like rape against men. This book like the others in this series has many strong characters including the woman! found myself wanting to laugh and cry with the characters. This is most definitely a must read!!

Oh this couple was a train wreck waiting to happen but instead of crashing they collided perfectly. I love that he is DEA and that they have known each other awhile. The chemistry was off the charts and when Mig first spoke of his pregnant wife my heart sank wondering what was going to happen to her so that he could end up with Annie. I never expected this but it was the best out come I could have wanted. That ending melted my heart!! Can't wait for book 3 to start.

The narration was great again, they are a great choice for this series!

Spit fire, fireball, down in flames

Mick oh my sexy, hot, law enforcement, biker, and well wealthy. He was honorable, respected, protective, and too damn kind. His wife should not be his wife. She should just be his baby mama and nothing more. She was a liar, a cheater, a schemer, and she was carrying his baby by deceit. Mick had not love for this woman but took her on as his wife.

Annie was his neighbor and she was everything he wanted in a woman and all he could not have. She was his neighbor and he was married. Things all change when the truth of things come out and one ex becomes two exs. One cheating beatdown becomes an innocent being hospitalized. Things takes on a few twist and a couple of turns. This was intense at times and darn right aggravating.

Narration gave me something to hold on to. Now with some background familiarity with the narrations duo, I found a bonding point to make connections to the familiar voice. The narration was smooth and even paced.

Ok... A Few Criticisms

*** Review Contains Spoilers***

This is the second book by Lani Lynn Vale (the first one being Beard Mode which I really enjoyed). This book got me off on the wrong foot from the get go by both characters' attitude towards marriage.

I get that Mig's wife drugged and essentially raped him which resulted in her becoming pregnant and this is why he despises her... but why marry her? He's a DEA, he could have pressed charges and taken custody of the baby once it was born OR could support her financially and co-parent with her without marrying her and living a miserable, bitter life. Then all of a sudden he feels like he has a chance with his hot neighbour and just like that he is getting evidence of his wife's infidelity to get a rush divorce? I didn't care for his bitter opinion of women, justifying it from his experience with his ex and his Dad's bad choice of girlfriends. It sucked the sexy right out of him in my opinion.

Then we have Annie who is pretty open about her sexual interest in her married neighbour before even knowing about the situation between him and his wife. It doesn't make her a favourable character. When Mig tells her about his awful marriage, Annie just sucks it up and thinks "oh well then, it's totally ok for me to sleep with you now!"

Ok, I got the criticisms out of the way. I love the narrators. Mason Lloyd really knows how to narrate a sexy male character, his voice is pure honey. Kendall Taylor is also very good, I lover her twang and her emotive performance. The other elements of the book are likable enough, but I think I'll ask for my credit back and maybe give another Lani Lynn Vale book a chance.

5 Jack & Coke Stars!

I am sucked in. I have stars in my eyes. This series is awesome!

I am going to sound like a gushy mick gush’ersin!! I <3 Mig!
I loved book 1 and I am all crazy over book 2. How did I not know about this series.. Ok anywayssssa back to the book.

Mig is one heck of a man, not only does he do what he thinks is best even if it’s at the expense of his own happiness. But he is strong, fearsome, and loyal.
He just digs his way in to your heart and you can’t help but want to heal him. And make it all better. But he is too manly for that. Haha I can’t even tell you how much I like this character.

Annie is a character I thought only got stronger over the course of the book. She became the kind of women Mig needed. She wasn't ever a weak kind of women but I loved the spunk she has and how she doesn't take any gruff from anyone including Mig. I love that every female character in this series can stand on her own. She doesn't NEED a man but hey it’s nice to have one around right. ;)

I swooned, I had a tear it didn't leave my eye but I was left with a huge smile on my face. These are my kind of HEA’s.

Again, same narration as book 1 so already knew I was a fan but I liked that it didn't sound like the same book. Sometimes I find if it’s the same narrator/s in a series with different characters the books bleed together. But I am so happy that was NOT the case. I am so jumping on to book 3!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Sexy MC romance with no cheating or drugs.

As with the first book in this series, I really liked it. While Annie wasn't mentioned too much in the first book in the series, Whiskey Neat, Mig played a large part as Grif's fellow member of the Uncertain Saints MC.

Mig is a DEA agent with a bitch of a wife he never wanted to marry nor have a child with. The child is the only reason he married her in the first place. And all of it because of her horrible decision making in order to get off drugs. Along with her illegal actions that night and the consequences that ensued (the baby), she's brought even more trouble into Mig's life than he ever realized.

Annie is Lenore's friend and owns a hair salon/massage parlor. She's also Mig's next door neighbor and completely attracted to him. She would never start anything, though, as he's a married man. But with a divorce in the cards, Mig and Annie are finally getting their chance to be together. Unfortunately, Mig unwittingly brings all of his trouble to Annie's doorstep when he gets her assistance in being able to speak to the man his wife was having an affair with.

Though some drama and danger and plenty of steamy sex, Annie and Mig find their HEA. The story has no cliffhanger and can be read as a stand-alone if desired. Having read Whiskey Neat is not vital to understanding this story. That being said, it was also a very good book which I would recommend to any MC member who likes a story without the cheating and drugs and drinking that accompany some MC books.

While I enjoyed Mason Lloyd's narration quite a lot, I was a bit disappointed in Kendall Taylor's performance. I had a hard time distinguishing the voices of different characters. The worst is that there were many times that I had a hard time telling who was speaking: Mig or Annie.
