Story
No take-backs. That was the motto that Drew lived by in all things, including his love life. He’s a player, pure and simple. He’s learned the hard way that women aren’t all hearts and flowers. Sometimes their sexy bodies and beautiful faces are just a pretty shield to hide the crazy, and he’s so freakin’ over crazy. For the first time in a year, he’s thinking about his life, and how it would be a lot more enjoyable with a woman like Aspen at his side. Maybe crazy isn’t so bad after all.

Story
Angie is a survivor. Anything you could throw at her, she could overcome. After her father left her like a pile of unwanted trash, she began fighting. Fighting to build a life. Fighting to keep her child. Fighting to matter. She thought she had it all figured out. Then Bowen Race Tannenbaum walks into her life, turning it into a flurry of confusion, hope, and then ultimately despair. He tore down, brick-by-brick, her carefully constructed world, leaving her heart in tatters and longing for more. Such as a happily-ever-after, something that wasn’t ever going to happen for her.

Story
July Dupree and Dean ‘PD’ Hargrove fell head over heels in love. When PD comes home to tell July the good news about joining the SWAT team as a tactical medic, everything changes. July can’t fathom why PD would want to be a cop in this day and age. Wasn’t it enough that he already had a dangerous job with the fire department? Now he has to add another, even more dangerous, job to the equation? But when he refuses to listen to her reasoning, she feels she has no other choice but to issue an ultimatum: Her or the SWAT team.

Story
The moment that Caro wakes up, she knows that she’s not alone. One thump-thump from the living room and she quickly moves into action. One 9-1-1 call later, and she’s ready to defend herself. Only, she gets more than she bargains for when she steps out into her living room and comes face to face with a living, breathing nightmare. And isn’t it just fitting that the man that saves her by coming down the chimney with a large black gun in his hand is named Saint Nicholas?

Going from a professional baseball player to a SWAT officer should’ve been seamless. Should have been. But it wasn’t. All it took was one single calendar shoot for word to spread that Nathan Cox was not only no longer playing professional baseball, but he was also the man behind saving the life of Reggie Morton, the city of Kilgore’s princess. Reggie didn’t know that by agreeing to provide the expertise and the know-how for the Police Officer’s Ball that she would be required to actually attend the function.

Peter Parker Penn. Unlike the superhero his mother named him after, Parker is no good guy. In fact, if there’s a picture in the dictionary under anti-hero, it’s his. Parker has spent his life trying to get back on the right side of the tracks, but each step he takes forward, he takes two more steps back. To save one, he hurts others. To make this good, he turns that bad. For appearances’ sake, he plays the part. He does what people expect him to do - mostly.

He should’ve never left his house. He should’ve stayed at home. He has a legitimate excuse - he’s running a fever and he’s fairly sure he’s developing pneumonia. He should have called in sick...but he doesn’t. He goes to work, because his team is relying on him. Needless to say, when Samuel Adams walks into the pharmacy hours later, he only has one thing on his mind. Ibuprofen. Sadly, he never gets to the Ibuprofen. Mostly because before he gets there, he finds a junkie waving a gun around threatening to kill anybody that moves.

Coke Solomon has lived a full life. He’s a retired army drill sergeant, so he is more than used to getting his way. And if he can’t have it his way? Well, let’s just say that’s never happened before... At least not until Cora Maldonado walks into his life, demanding he fall in line, or she’ll find a way to make his life hell. It doesn’t matter that she’s younger than him, and has a father that would rather see him dead than have his baby girl anywhere near him. Nor does it matter that his ex-wife is highly offended that she’s been replaced with a much younger woman.

Royal St. James got her name when she was born. Not because her mother loved her royally, but because Royal was a giant pain in the ass. She’s spent her entire life fighting to live, and the last thing she needs is to deal with some pretty-boy police officer who wouldn’t know a hardship if it came up and bit him in the...you know. Justice Rector wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was raised to work hard and always fight for what he believed in. His father was a cop, and ever since he could remember, he wanted to be one, too.

Ares saw him for the first time at a Kilgore Police Department benefit dinner. She’d gone with her dad as his plus one. Hayes Greer had gone by himself and brooded silently across the same table as her, drinking whiskey and not saying a word. It only took that one time for her to become interested. The next time she saw him, he was doing another benefit - but this one requiring a whole lot fewer clothes. And that was when she knew. She wanted him. Badly. But the morose Hayes was too busy thinking about his sins to see what was right in front of his face - Ares.

The first time Avery Flynn saw Derek Roberts, she was photographing him for the first annual Kilgore Police Department SWAT calendar. He was leaned back in his squad car, shirtless, and giving her a smile that was completely between them. A smile that hinted at what he wanted to do to her later. When she scrounges up the courage to ask him out after the photoshoot, he laughs in her face. Well, screw you, too, Mr. February.

Michael was that guy. The one that everyone was cautious of. Maybe it was the tattoos. Maybe it was the way he gave off a "don't screw with me" vibe. Maybe it was because he just told them to leave him the hell alone. Regardless, people gave him his space. He was screwed up, and everyone knew it. He got tattoos because he liked the pain. He was standoffish. He didn't have many friends outside of work. And the only thing he had going for him was that he was a good cop.

He saw her from across a crowded ballpark and knew she was about to change his life. Yes, he realizes just how cliché that really is, but the moment his eyes locked on her, he knew that she was the one. At least, the one that royally screwed him over. The one responsible for his demotion and the subsequent disciplinary action taken against him before he’d even gotten out of the probationary period with Kilgore Police Department. It all started with a kiss.

There are a few lessons one has to learn for themselves. Then there are the lessons that most people don’t have to learn because it’s just not done. For instance, most people know instinctively that they shouldn’t crave the mother of their brother’s child. Bourne Pena isn’t most men. Bourne does everything he can to fight the attraction he feels for Delanie, but in the end, his refusal to go there almost ends up costing him his life.

Publisher's Summary
Taima, a.k.a. Tai, is the last person people come to for help. He’s the fuck up...the bad boy...the guy that only looks out for himself.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
He’s fought hard to become the man he is today. He’s a hero in the public’s eye. A firefighter that the young all the way to the old turn to for help at the lowest point in their lives.
What people don’t know, though, is that he’s no hero. He’s the reason his sister is dead, and he’ll spend the rest of his life trying to right that wrong.
Then one split second decision has him coming face to face with Mia Darling. The woman changes his life, making him reevaluate everything he thought he had figured out, and showing him the tenderness he never knew he needed.
Just like always, though, his luck runs out.
When the smoke settles, Mia’s gone, and Tai realizes there’s no way he can live the rest of his life without her. He’ll show her just how hard a bad boy will fight to get his woman back, and he’s not opposed to fighting dirty.

What the Heck?
LLV changed the formula of the narrators and it tanked. Like I've said before, narrators can make or break an audio book. Why has Mason Lloyd and Kendall Taylor all of a sudden not the "go to* narrators for these new books? I think they are the ones that successfully brought the characters to life. Lidia Dornet did a bang up job too, but the new narrators in the last few books that were released (I'd say the last four or five books) have ruined the LLV experience. Please stop with these new narrators, especially the females. Where on Earth are you finding them!?

Bring on the UGLY Tears... LLV has done it again!!
Another amazing book by LLV.. and of course as per usual she has managed to pull almost every emotion out of me, even the ugly cry that NO ONE ever wants to see. Only a true Texan can understand fully all the craziness that is said by LLV. I just laugh and laugh for most of the book. When I'm not cursing out loud or crying. On to the next book. Bring it LLV! Great
I love this writer but don't like the narrators after listening to Mason Lloyd (sounds older than my grandfather) and (poor little I'm a mouse) Kendal Taylor the books and stories start to sound the same....... I love to listen to Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke read Lani Lynn Vale stories. They make me believe the characters have a connection and make me believe they are really a couple which makes the erotic scenes even more exciting....I have purchased all her current books and look forward to her new book coming out this month....Swat Generation 2.0 Depends On Who's Asking

Wonderful start to this series.
We loved the KPD...now it’s time for the KFD! This story has some ‘bawl your eyes out’ times but then there is healing. The typical drama ensues but the camaraderie of the team makes it worth it. Good job by the narration team but I miss the original team of earlier LLV books...Mason Lloyd and Kendall Taylor...to me they were the voices of these books.

This was my first time reading Author Lani Lynn Vale and I was shocked at the emotions this author provoked in me. The author writes a heavy plot but delivers it with a fast-paced, effortless flow that had me totally invested from beginning to end. Highly enjoyed Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder and look forward to more from this author and these narrators!!

Heartbreakingly beautiful!
5 Heartbreakingly Beautiful Stars It's been a while since I actually read this one, so listening to it just brought back all the original feels I had for Tai and Mia. These two meet in a most unconventional way, but quickly form a bond that neither quite understand at first. The narrators did an amazing job bringing to life all the feelings leaping off the pages of this book. They made me feel every word of this story. This is the reason I love audiobooks.
