You're the Lights

Sebastian had one rule. No women on the back of his bike. Period. The one time he broke that rule, he killed the woman that was carrying his child. Then comes Baylee Roberts. She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he'd ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet.

To My....

Baylee Roberts innocently walked into her bathroom never expecting that she'd find a man in there. It is her bathroom after all, and she lives alone. From the instant he placed his hat on her head to protect her from the sun, Baylee's mind becomes filled with thoughts of a certain biker. She really shouldn't go there. There's no telling what kind of dangerous things he does for The Dixie Wardens MC.

Siren....

Nothing is ever as easy as it should be. Their relationship's one of them. Baylee's brother is a cop. Baylee's father is a cop. Which inevitably means that Baylee's going to have certain hang-ups about being with a man like himself. Sebastian has a lot on his plate with his busy job as a firefighter, a single father, and the vice president of The Dixie Wardens MC. Not enough, though, to keep him away from Baylee.

Contains mature themes.

Narrators Ruined it for me

OK, so we know reviews depend on the reader’s preference/perception (not always but mostly). If the reader is not into the genre, doesn’t like the tone of narrator, pauses, beliefs, mispronunciations, authors work, etc. My acceptance of a review depends on the majority rule concept. In this instance that was not the case, no one mentioned the boring performance. I hope my review is helpful in persuading you to speed listen. The performers completely ruined the book; my God, it was totally boring, very slow (like listening to a very long eulogy read by an elderly cowboy librarian fighting to stay awake (and not the newly elderly, one who’s been elderly for a while), the female’s execution was ½ a click before OK, which is weird because I’ve heard her read before and she is normally fine (sorry, I don’t know how else to describe them)). In most cases, poor performance leaves me unable to provide a valuable feedback as to the quality of the book. This however was completely different, you can clearly see how well the book is written and would have gotten a 4.5 star if not for the narrators. If you are into listening on high speed (at least 1.25), I highly recommend it.

Good story

The male narrator was awful!! Sounded like an old man instead of a group of motorcycle guys

Where Seb. York when ya need him?!

This book could have been awesome with the right narration. These two narrators suck! The story is so good and it’s awful to not get great narration.

Series Winner!

I’m in the process of getting through all the other stories Lani Lynn Vale has written in the past. This gem was so much fun to listen to. Baylee and Sebastian are full of so much passion and easily gravitate to each other. A winner! 5 stars!

3.5 stars

I enjoyed the story and the characters. I did find the wording repetitive.
The reading is solid, but I didn’t enjoy listening to Tristan James. I think it’s the slow drawl, so it’s probably completely personal 😅.

the female narrator was cringy

this was a hard listen. the female narrator made you roll your eyes on the overly dramatic sex scenes. A classic "faking an orgasm" sounds. won't listen to the next book if the same narrator

Male narrator is awful

This male narrator sounds like he is 65 not 34. Ugh so not a good fit.

Good Listening

Loved the respect shown even during conflict. The love was evident. The blatant disrespect & abuse shown towards the women in other MC books was not prevalent here. Nice change. It was still hot but I didn't feel like I wanted to throw up over the abusive treatment of the heroine & her reaction to it (The he physically & verbally abuses her & she can't wait to have sex with him because he's so hot & she loves him syndrome).

Love those Dixie Wardens.

Great author and I am a big fan of the series. I am thrilled to have it in audio format. The narrators are good too. LLV is on my auto buy list and I can't wait for more of the Dixie Wardens stories to come out in audibles. I read all of her work and now I am starting my collection of her books in audible format.

This book is the first of the Dixie Wardens series. There's romance, life altering events, intrigue, sexy fun, and of course bad ass bikers. Great story and definitely on all my bookshelves (paperback, electronic, and audible).
