A fantastic listen!

The characters were well developed. The story was an action-packed-who-done-it story, and very well developed. If you love Navy Seals, you have got to get this one. I got NOTHING DONE TODAY! I found something to do so that I could listen all day :) I am now on the site looking to see if Trish McCallan has written anything else.
Also the narrator was fantastic too! I simply love a good narrator. You forget that it is only one person talking; you can recognize each person and simply sit back and be carried away by the story.

THANK YOU BOTH FOR A GREAT LISTENING EXPERIENCE!

LOVED, loved this book ~ want more NOW!!

Zane Winters has waited his whole life to find that 'connection' with a woman. In his family, a man knows when he's met 'the one'. He feels an instant soul deep connection, to the point that it's psychic. Zane has always had flashes of intuition, so it's no surprise to his fellow SEALs, who are all at the airport waiting to catch a flight to a wedding, when Zane gets a flash of bad happenings on the flight they're about to board.

What IS a shock is when not only does the woman Zane has been waiting for his whole life show up in the terminal, but she comes right up to Zane and knows details about the flight highjacking about to take place...details only someone involved could know. Or someone psychic?

Beth Brown has never in her life had dreams or premonitions that came true...yet the one about this day was coming true in ever step, so what else could she do but go to the airport and try to warn the man she'd seen in her dream about all the deaths she'd witnessed? She's shocked & mystified at her instant attraction to Zane Winters...and the way he seems to take command of everyone and everyting around him.

I LOVED this book! I'd actually read the book before, so this refers to the audio version, which I just had to listen to when I heard it was out.

Ms McCallan thrilled this readers little heart ~ first, it's obvious that the writer herself is a romance lover. Her heroine is an avid romance reader, and not in annoying way, but one that endeared her to me. Another way I felt like I was on inside club with Ms. McCallan was OMG, she's GOT to be a Linda Howard fan! So many of these sexy SEALs and other characters had LH names...you have to be a fan to recognize them, but here are a few I jotted down I loved it!

And it's obvious she learned what makes a hero grab your heart and run with reading all those romances, because Zane does! He's sexy, overbearing but not in an obnoxious way. He's instantly possesive & aggresive about Beth...who he's already decided is his. There's no lack on the action & adventure, and while we're left wondering on a few points to lead us to book 2, I have only glowing things to say about this book...and to tell Ms. McCallan she needs to

WRITE FASTER!!

She's already make it onto my autobuy list with ONE BOOK.

Yup, it's THAT good, peeps.

And Angela Dawe, as always, brings the characters to life in an awesome

skillful way! I love how she can do male or female, and keep me convinced of her characters the entire time.

I sped the audio up to 1.25, but I do that most of the time, since I read pretty fast. But this was a total WIN!

Disappointed is an understatement

I decided to get this book due to a fabulous review from a fellow Audible listened. I have no idea what she was thinking when she wrote her rave review. I guess my standards must be to high. I felt that the narration was poor, it was so monotonous to be almost painful. I felt no true passion because it all just blurred together. The story was sub-par and again lacked much to be desired. I love big hunky guys and the idea of a book with marines definitely perked my interest. But I'd give this a pass and instead get something by Lori Foster, Sandra Brown or JR Ward.

ADDICTIVE..... ONCE YOU START YOU JUST CAN'T STOP

Could not put this down - exciting, tense, thrilling, nerve racking and mind blowingly (alright that might not be a word) GREAT.

It has everything sexy SEAL, terrorists, action, romance, intrigue ...... I know I'm gushing aren't but I can't stop. Long may this Series continue and I'm absolutely desperate for March when the 2nd book Forged In Ash (Cosky's story) comes out.

Note to author T.M. - I'm begging you - cancel your holiday plans, work over the weekends.... oh yeah and through the night, hire a maid and/or nanny if needed - or better yet I'll come round and help you with it all if needed ANYTHING if you could just concentrate on books 4, 5, 6 etc etc etc because your fans need you!!!

Worth a credit? Oh YES YES YES and then some..... but for under $10 it's a bargain and it's read by the brilliant Angela Dawe and hopefully the formula of TM and AD won't change.

Fantastic Read!!

Gripping, tense, quite a ride of a story. Can’t wait till the next book is out this is quite a story, can’t wait to see Amy and Max mix it up. It never ceases to amaze me what a tangle web we have in the executive branch of our government, and how each lil branch want their lil niche and no one can step in it without letting someone know. I would think they would have been happy that an air plane disaster had been adverted and lives saved, rather than question where the Intel came from, and who got it first. In this story we have bad guys in the FBI, DHS (dept. of homeland security) local police (although this wasn’t established for sure) and in the Naval Dept. So it became a question of WHO CAN YOU TRUST? I wouldn’t be surprised if the corruption goes even higher, like a senator in our government, but that is for the next book. Now for Zane and Beth, the physic link they have with each other was quite endearing. Beth denied it but she sure did believe in using it when she was in trouble. I really got a kick out of her using it when they were making love, which was so endearing. Get this book, it was fantastic. Worth a credit.
Narrator did a fantastic job.

Intense

Wow, isn't really good enough to describe this book. The twist's and turns kept me right on the edge of my seat, through out the whole book!! Way to go Trish McCallan with your first book. I can't wait for the next one. This book is classy from the first page to the last. Do hope you stick with same format of lots of story and limited classy sex scenes.

Just averaage for me.

What did you like best about Forged in Fire? What did you like least?

It has alot of characters in this book so I assume there may be more books coming from this one. I like the concept of the story, but I did not feel it. At times I felt more emotions from secondary characters than the main characters.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The two main characters just don't click for me. The book has some very good parts but I never got sold on the storyline.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Chemistry between the main characters.

Any additional comments?

Like I said, I love the storyline but for some reason I couldn't "feel" the relationships like I have in other books I've listened to. I would recommend something else.

Action plot: Loved it; Romancy stuff: Ack!

Maybe it's because I'm in an action mood right now. (Have been really enjoying the Joe Ledger books and most recently The Grey Man books.) Or perhaps because I am not a romance novel reader. Some of the issues I had with this book are why...

The action plot (foiled hijacking, rescue etc.) really worked for me. It was the romance part of the novel I found lacking. I was looking forward to the soulmate aspect of a "love story" unfortunately, I didn't get a love story. Zane is so excited about getting "excited" by a woman that this navy seal supposedly trained for high pressure combat situations can't keep his priorities straight. For example, they're on a clock to rescue three children and two woman and, on the way to find the only possible clue to their whereabouts and he can't help but stop to make out. These moments made me insane.

The other problem I had with this "romance" was the handling of Beth's character. She is rightly thrown off base by this guys declaration that she is his soul mate. She repeatedly declares to herself that they need to talk. She says all of the smart things *to herself*. But every time starts the conversation she never gets to the point. Then, to make it worse, he pulls a caveman move on her, declares she's *mine*...wha? Then a few minutes later she's puts her foot down when THE MENFOLK dare to tell her what to do?

These elements made me want to scream. I do not like stupid women and Beth's inability to have a conversation made her seem vapid to me. And Zane didn't fare much better given his inability to look at her without getting hard. Maybe this just isn't my genre. I prefer a mix of lusy and respecg and all I got was ludg.

I still haven't decided if I will give the second book in the series a try. If I do it will be with the sincere hope that experience will have brought more balance to the plotting.. The end seemed a bit rushed...I found myself wondering if the publisher forced the ajthor to split a longer book.

As to the performance. Unfortunately, I enjoyed this one better reading the book. The reader wasn't very believable with her male voices and I found it a bit distracting.

Hold on for a thriller of a ride

This is the first book in a planned series and I am soooo looking forward to more!

Beth is an airport employee who has a dream of a terrorist attack and goes to the airport to see if her dream is really something to worry about. There she sees Zane and his team of Navy Seals who are headed to Hawaii for the wedding of a team mate. What Beth doesn't know is Zane has psychic abilities and recognises Beth as his "one true love" - sigh. Of course throwing a spanner in the works is the terrorist plot that must now be averted but Zane and his team are up for the challenge.

I really enjoyed how the author kept the pace between the relationship developing between Zane and Beth and the action of saving the day. Although this book was resolved in story you can see the bigger terrorist plot will continue to be explored and there are some delicious characters to look forward to. the only thing not explained properly, why did Beth have the dream in the first place? This was a girl who has had not such dreams or any physic ability in the past but suddenly has a dream? Didn't get it but at the end of the day was a minor plot inconsistency that I could live with

When you see on a book RED HOT SEALs you think some steamy scenes....nope. One steamy scene & a couple of kisses.
I thought Angela Dawe did a great job with the delivery of the story.
