Publisher's Summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn delivers a smart and cheeky romance about love’s power to lift hearts...and curses.

It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all...

But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”

Boy, was I wrong.

Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.

It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart - her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.

Everyone wishes for that second chance...but could this really be mine?

When love overcomes a curse...

The Knightly brothers were celebrating the 21st birthday of the youngest in New Orleans, when an unfortunate drunken accident results in a curse on their love lives. They think nothing of it until the oldest, Griffin, experiences a devastating loss. Now everyone in town believes that the Knightly bros are cursed and stay away. Ren is the new girl in town...she’s moved from CA to Maine to regain control of her life after a life threatening car accident...and to take the position of algebra teacher at the local school. She didn’t count on a moose encounter that sent her car into a tree...seriously! Ren meets the hunky volunteer firefighter, Griffin, when he rescues her from the car...in the tree. Ren befriends the aloof Griffin and he reluctantly lets her in. But can Griffin get past the guilt of ‘the curse’ to find love again? This story was engaging, funny and oh so cute. I’m looking forward to Rogan’s story next!!!

Funny, sweet and adorable.

In true Meghan Quinn fashion this book is funny but this one has a serious note to it. The narration was good.

a cute romantic story

Typical small town meddling drama but the story was wonderful. The characters developed so well and were relatable. I enjoyed it.

My Thoughts on That Second Chance

That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn is a story like nothing I've read from her before.

What starts off as brothers going out for a weekend of partying and celebration suddenly turns into a curse. From there things really take off.

There are some really sad moments. Some moments of family fun and laughs. A great leading couple. And a story that was just overall a really good read.

One of my favorite things about this story was the well developed characters. I really felt like I got to know Griffin and Ren. I got to experience them falling in love. And it was set on this sweet cozy feeling town with meddling old ladies and over exaggerated gossip.

This was an amazing kick off to a new series and I look forward to reading more.

The narrators were newer to me but pretty good. I enjoyed the female narrator a bit more than the male, but I would listen to more by both of them before making any firm decisions.

Loved it...Totally

I loved both narrators. The only thing I didn't like was chapters labeling were wrong (i.e. chapter 19 was chapter 18 on the book). Other than that, everything was amazing.

Now I want Fudge.

4
Griffin and Ren are quirky and fun, they have a fun friendship that slowly turns to more. They help each other out, even without knowing or realizing how. Things just fall into place for them naturally.
I loved being pulled into the details of this quaint little town, I wish it were real so I could actually visit... and maybe bring some of that Lobster Landing fudge home... now that I’m drooling over not only fudge, but Griffin, I can say that I recommend this funny HEA romance.
The only thing I didn’t care for was how often Ren used the words cute or adorable to describe something.

That second chance

That second change! Be prepared to laugh and cry. All the feels. Starts out with brothers celebrating the youngest brother's twenty-first birthday in Louisiana . All fun and games until someone brakes a table that just so happens to be outside of a soothsayer. Turns out she thinks the boys could use a lesson. So begins the curse. A great story from start to finish and so many wonderful new characters to get to know and love. I fell in love with the town and family. I have a feeling we may get to visit all the brothers. (At least I hope we do). Great job everyone! Loved it!

Really good!

I enjoyed it a lot even if I did want to smack Griffin several times. Cute start to the series and I look forward to hearing the other brother's stories.
