Keeps you guessing

This was the first time I have read this author and I was pleased with the book. The narrator, jack garrett, has a great voice. I rated the story 5 simply because the author did a great job with all the little details.I would be listening wondering something about how the character would develop and before long Martin would tie it all up very nicely.

Wimpy Sarah

While the writing was good, I found the main female character Sarah to be wimpy, boring and sometimes just stupid. Sarah allowed herself to be pressured by the cool kids in high school to be cruel to Jackson, a poor boy who had a crush on her.

Next Sarah drops out of college to marry a rich man for financial security, never holding a job. When her husband becomes physically abusive she stays with him for years, even after having a daughter.

After her husband is killed, Sarah runs back to her home town and tries to hide from thugs who believe she has something valuable. Of course, she never reports anything to the police or carries a weapon to protect herself & child.

Somehow Jackson - all grown up, financially secure and too generous - is willing to take care of Sarah & her daughter (the kid is much more appealing than the mother), immediately falling madly in love. Sorry but I like strong, self sufficient women characters.

Romance in the Canyon

A soft romance is the best way to describe the kick off for this series. I enjoyed the story. If you want something to kick back to on Sunday afternoon then this could be the book for you if you like cowboys. A strong testosterone hunk of a male and a woman who has found herself again after abusive relationship. The narrator grows on you and I found myself wanting to know more about family. Steamy hot nope. Genuine old time romance yes. If on sale it is an okay listen.

I love her books! Lets see more of her books here

Any additional comments?

I have listened to everyone of her books and I love them all. I do like Jack Garrett's reading. Some people don't but I love his voice.
I wish Audible would get more of her books and get them in order.
If you not into sex then you may not like Kat's books. However I love the romance and the suspense with it.

Just not my style

I'm not sure how this book was so highly rated by others because I didn't like it at all. I was almost embarrassed for Jack Garrett for having to read aloud such a poor story. Some of the lines that the male character said are so sickening sweet I thought I would throw up. Towards the end I found myself laughing because it was so absurd

Too Stupid to Live

So - I love the hero in this story. But - the heroine - not so much. Jackson gave this chick every chance - but really - she is an idiot. I gave up on her and I found myself just feeling sorry for poor Jackson. Sarah is just stupid - she never really appreciated what a winner she had in Jackson. Poor Jackson!

Great!

I enjoyed this audio book with Jack Garrett narration. He did an excellent job with male and female voices. And the story was also good.

Another hit.

First off I don't see the female as weak, only someone who doesn't understand abuse would. You see her grow the longer she is out of her situation.
Second off, I think Jack Garret does a really good job.

Thanks for this

I like her stories. Although I like to read on my own. This gives me a chance to listen in my car.
