Publisher's Summary

Media consultant Veronica St. John has been hired to teach a rugged Navy SEAL to impersonate a European prince who's been targeted by terrorists. But one conversation and Veronica knows there's no way she can turn streetwise New Yorker Joe Catalanotto into nobility. Joe, on the other hand, is confident he's got what it takes. Two days isn't a lot of time to get the job done...but it's enough time to fall in love.

Prince Joe

Great book. One of the best of Suzanne Brockmann's seal novels. It would be wonderful to get all the 11 in this series on audio.

Not new

I would like a highly visable original copyright date noted with each "info" on books. This is an older book reissued. Get frustrated that I need to do so much research before a purchase to know if it is a new or OLD book. Good and simple, interesting to see the progression on the author from this book to her troubleshooters series.

Loved this story!

This is the first book I've listened to by Suzanne Brockmann and I can't wait to listen to &/or read more of her stories!
I've listened to several audiobooks & this one is now at the top of my list of favorites! The narration is one of the things I consider when rating the audioibooks I listen to & this is a perfect example of how a well done naration (or in this case performance) truly enhances the story. Ashley Adlon is now one of my favorite narators (along with Savannah Richardson, Natalie Ross, Joyce Bean, and Renee Raudman, Sanda Burr and James Daniels).
This is a story you will honestly get lost in & while I usually only listen to audioooks in the car this one was so good I listened to it everywhere & anywhere since I just couldn't put it down!

Earlier Work - Still Worth the "Read"

I fell in love with Brockmann's Best Selling Troubleshooters, and when i found this series I figured it was where she 'cut her teeth' - setting her up for the success of the Troubleshooters.
It would appear that my presumptions were correct - but that did not detract from the enjoyment of the story for me!
I find the trip, not the destination, the most appealing in my stories. Yes, I could kinda predict where the story was going - but Brockmann made the trip interesting and fun.
And is that not the objective behind urban romance - fantasy - fiction stories? To be interesting and fun? Brockmann did both in this story, and i'm hoping Audible takes on the rest in this series!!!

Ratings??

I selected this book because the ratings were so high but I wasn't impressed. I don't know of any man, particularly a Navy SEAL that would talk or act like the male character in this book. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen or for the story to be less predictable but it never did. I was really happy when I got to the end and it was over. I just didn't want to listen anymore it wasnt interesting enough.

Spoiler alert:

A navy SEAL being a body double for a prince with a death threat and the female character falling in love with him (in 3 days). She ends up in danger, he saves her, she realized she wants to marry him after 2 weeks, story over. Ugh, not very creative, must have been a slow couple of months and Ms Brockman ran out of ideas.

Sorry for all of you that gave this 5 stars but I didn't get it (and really wish I had not wasted my credit!)

5 +++ The NARRATION is AMAZING Stars

Normally I mention the narration at the end but D – A – N – M it needs to be mentioned first. Ashley Adlon brought every character a voice and even some with ACCENTS!! And she freaking NAILED it. No joke. I loved this book because she had me so engaged. The storyline was there for sure but Ashley slays this book in all the best ways.

I went in knowing it was an older romance, meaning it was writing over 20 years ago and I immediately felt like it was a Harlequin I would just pluck off my grandma’s shelf and devour.

These are the romance’s I fell in love with, has the story been done before sure, with more flair sure. But if you take it down to the time the book was written and how it makes you feel I was so in love with Joe! He was this tough seal yacked off his one day leave and shoved into this passion he didn’t want to be in but because of respect, he volunteered in the end to do the job.

And Veronica, she was the strong stoic type who sure some might say got walked over, but really she just lied in wait until she could manipulate the situation. I loved that she was so ambitious and skeptical.
I loved that Joe wore his heart on his sleeve; he was this strong man until he fell in love. Who doesn’t love a story like that?

I loved it as you can tell and if you just go in thinking I am going to be entertained and enjoy a good love story you will love it as much as I did I am sure of it.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Love this series

Great book. I loved reading the Tall Dark and Dangerous series years ago. The narrator does a great job with the characters of seal team 10.

Goose bumps!

This is a well written quick read.. I sometimes get frustrated with the 'chase' of the main characters when it is drawn out forever. I can't say that about this book. I like how the character's stay true to themselves and find love based on who they are inside! Then add the excitement of the Navy Seals ( Navy Mom here, so I am a little bias, lol). A fun book!

Light Fun Romantic

Any additional comments?

This is a light and entertaining romantic adventure with nice people who do as you would expect. It was fun to listen to. It had a feel good happy ending. I enjoyed it for exactly what it was supposed to be: entertainment with nothing distressing.

Definitely a prince!

What made the experience of listening to Prince Joe the most enjoyable?

Kept my attention through the entire book. Plus it is a quick listen. I don't feel like I should be almost finished by the time the end rolls around. Some books are way too long and you feel like you have been listening for hours on end, just trying to get to a good part. This book/series has been keeping my attention throughout.

What other book might you compare Prince Joe to and why?

I would call them a modern day version of Johanna Lindsey's Malory/Anderson series. Only instead of a powerful family of blood relatives, you have a powerful group of men who would consider each their brother. It has loyalty between the seals, a strong female lead, comedy, romance, misunderstandings and much more. The stories for both series' are entertaining and enjoyable from start to finish.

What does Ashley Adlon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good diversity in the characters voices. Animation and believability in the difference between man and woman. Character distinction is consistent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. I laughed and cried. Especially toward the end of the book. I needed a box of tissues!
