Publisher's summary

After penning a series of best-selling novels, Eleanor Riley vowed to leave her past - and the man who broke her heart - far behind. As the creator of one of television's most beloved dramas, Elle couldn't have written a better comeback for herself. But her success doesn't leave much room in her life for romance...until Luke Kingston enters the scene.

Luke, a stunningly handsome star, is set to play the latest love interest in Elle's show...but he's got his eye on Elle, and she can't deny their sizzling chemistry. Then Elle has a chance encounter with Troy Saladino - the man who had been the love of her life - and suddenly a million old feelings are rushing back.

With two gorgeous men pursuing her, Elle can't decide who holds the key to her heart: her new love or her old flame. Will her choice bring her happiness - or more heartbreak?

Loved this book!

An amazing story of love, loss, heartbreak, forgiveness, second chances, and moving on! You will fall in love with the characters in this book. It has just the right amount of everything to keep things very interesting and you will be flipping the pages to find out what happens! A wonderful ending! Would love to see other characters from this book have their own story!

Strong 4 star

It was really long but a good plot. I enjoyed the story and not knowing who she would pick until the very end.

UGH!!

Ok, firstly; the narrator should not be doing male voices! Ugh!! She wasn't good at all on different voices. No change between characters so I was lost on who was who.

Secondly; this book sounded like a VERY amateur author. It came off as very YA, not only in action but dialogue, expressions, behavior etc. One min she's literally coming apart from a first kiss with Luke (on their first date) like it's her first kiss ever, when she's no virgin and supposed to be a grown experienced woman. She's lusting after Luke from the start like a teenager, so over the top ridiculous which is not how adults behave! She says she has deep feelings for him and Next thing I knew a chapter or so after she hooks up with Luke the next time she sees him, she runs into Troy (past crush) and professes her love to him. WTAF?? Now I'm on the back and forth within Elle's own inner musings,  yet again,  conflicted on her personal insecurities that she already whined about when Luke asked her out and again NOW about Troy and why he'd be attracted to her! FFS!!

Elle is the stereotypical insecure female that instead of being confident not just in herself but her achievements in life, doesn't feel confident enough to know her worth alone without a man.

Sorry, but I really hated this book. I rather spend my time reading about women that although insecurities are within, they don't allow anyone but themselves to be confident in all aspects of themselves.

Too much angst for this gal

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who enjoys indecision in a smart woman for no reason given. She likes control she says and seems to me to be a horrible choice for a relationship. Woman is way too neurotic.

What was most disappointing about Melissa Brown’s story?

I couldn't empathize with the main character. Too immature for supposedly being 35.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kristin Watson Heintz’s performances?

Didn't care for the narrator either which may have contributed to me not finishing this listen. I got one third through it and couldn't bring myself to listen to more.

What character would you cut from Red Carpet Kiss?

The main character, El.

Any additional comments?

I'll be mindful not to buy another book by this author and especially not any books with this narrator.
