Publisher's summary

My name is Lennox Brooks, and I'll admit I've made a lot of mistakes. I don't take the big risks, I cover my insecurities with snark, I've shown my crazy a few more times than I would've liked, and I've been trying and failing at love pretty much since I first grew tits. Weirdos, mama's boys, the over-coiffed, and underwhelming, I've been out with them all, just read my blog. I've got horror stories that would curl your toes and singe your nose hairs, but none of them compare to the toad who started it all: Ellis Walker.

He was the boy next door, the charming, infuriatingly gorgeous one who broke my heart and disappeared without a trace. Now, he's back and determined to throw my life into chaos, dredging up painful memories just when things were getting good.

But the thing is there are always two sides to every story. I've spent the better part of my life hating him for everything he put me through, but without that resentment clouding my judgment, how will I ever resist him?

Love is complicated, appearances are deceiving, and sometimes, you have to kiss a whole lot of frogs before finding your prince.

Cute book, hilarious but frustrating

I really found the beginning of the book to be quite hilarious- as someone who has had to navigate the NYC dating scene it hit home a bit and I laughed a lot at the blog entries. Poor Len had the worst luck ever. However, I have to say that i started to get really frustrated at Len as the book progressed.

Ellis, the man, hurt Len when they were younger and Len held on to her anger and distrust. Obviously, the pains of the past don’t just go away but really, i thought her anger dragged a bit too long. Even once Len and Ellis talked things out and Len gave what I thought was a rather good reason for what he did, Len exhibited behaviors that were extremely childish, given how Ellis was acting. He was so sweet and really funny as he tried to win her over, even in the midst of her distrust and within the love triangle. Even after Ellis realized that she was being selfish and annoying, she STILL didn’t change her behaviors. There’s no growth in her character until the very very end, which just ended up frustrating me.

In terms of the narrator, she was good. She differentiated well between the characters so it was an easy listen. She played the supporting cast well and I really liked that facet of the story.

Cute Frienemies to Lovers romance

This is one of my favorite sub-genres and this book is a great addition to my rom-com collection. It has the perfect mix of witty banter, funny inner monologues, and drama. Samantha Harris did an amazing job with this story and I cannot wait to read more.

The narration was really good. I enjoyed Heather's multiple voices and cannot wait to hear what other ones she has.

The main character Lennox was a bit annoying with her whole.. Oh you stood me up jilted act.. Even after she received an explanation of why.. but it all turned out ok.. and overall this was a really good listen! Heather does a great job bringing this book too life and I loved the opportunity to listen and review this one! 👍

Such a fun story! Great acting!

I read most of this through the audio book, and then finished reading the last few chapters (I was driving when I started!)

Both the author and narrator were new to me.

They both left me wanting to read/listen to more!

Samantha Harris has a quick witted, fun, way of writing a story. Great character development, great arc, and an overall great idea.

My only minor flip, was the blog posts. It took me several chapters to reconcile that it wasn’t running concurrently with the story itself. This didn’t take away from the story, but did leave me mildly kerfuffled for a bit.

Heather Firth did an absolutely amazing job with this book. Each character was easily discernible, consistent, and full of personality. I throughly enjoyed listening to her read this! I can’t wait to experience more of her narrations.

Great Read

Whole Lotta Frogs was a good read by Samatha Harris. Lennox Brooks knows that she has made a lot of mistakes. She has been extremely unlucky with love. She writes all her dating horror stories on her blog, and it all started with Ellis Walker. He was her charming neighbor who broke her heart and then disappeared. She never got to know his side of the story. Although she is angry with him, she knows she will have a hard time resisting him. I enjoyed reading Lennox and Ellis’ story and cant wait to read more by the author.

4.5 stars

I thought this was a cute, light, fun book to listen to. I would have liked to give it 4.5 stars because I felt like there was room for improvement with the final stretch of the book, but overall I liked the writing style and enjoyed the book.

I listened to the Audible version and Heather Firth did a great job with her performance. I'm sure that I enjoyed the book more because I listened to it.

Almost 5 stars

This was the first book I've read/listened to by Samatha Harris. It is a shorter, fun, light read that made me laugh several times. It just flirted so close to cheating that I had to dock stars. I think some would debate with me about it, but for this sensitive to cheating reader, it affected how I felt about the heroine. The end of the book was great but ended too soon. I would have loved to see Ellis and Len interact as a couple. I wasn't ready for it to be over.

Heather Firth was an EXCELLENT narrator. She handled both female and male voices perfectly. I really enjoyed her performance. She brought this book to life. I'll be looking for more books that she's narrated.

Friend-enemies to lovers rom com

This was such a fun friend-enemies to lovers story. I loved every second. Lennox is an independent woman who hates her job as a personal assistant but stays it in hopes to be a journalist one day, no matter how many times her boss turns down her articles. She has a blog where she keeps herself anonymous about her disaster of a dating life. Her childhood best friend turned ex friend Ellis is back in town and she is forced to see him as their families are very close. She believes his ultimate hobby is to make her life a living hell. But as events happen she starts to learn that everything she thought about him, her life, herself... isn't as she thought. She has to make some major decisions. Decisions that will affect her future and she has to take some chances, something she isn't good at. Every second of this story had me on my toes while laughing out loud. Yes I was that crazy lady with head phones on laughing. I couldn't help it. The banter between Ellis and Lennox was hysterical. And her blog posts! I am so sad that her blog isn't real. I would so be a subscriber. This narrator was the perfect voice for Lennox. She really made me believe she was telling the story to me. This is a great rom com that all romance fans will fall in love with. I know I did. And you don't get just once romance in this story. That's all I am saying. I won't spoil the fun.

Two sides to every story

Samantha Harris reminds us that every story has two sides and that holding on to a grudge without knowing the other persons side can lead to unnecessary hurt. She also eloquently demonstrates that dating his hard but finding humor in ones misadventures can go along way. As Lennox navigates the world of dating and blogs about having to date a whole lotta frogs in search of one prince - her portrayal of the online dating scene makes me grateful I've found my prince but brings back my college dating days. With humor and self deprecation, the story progresses with snip bits of her childhood growing up with the boy next door. My only qualm with the story is the perpetuation that when a boy is mean to a girl, it's because he likes her. In my opinion, this is the wrong message for young girls to be told but here's not the place for that.

Heather Firth does an excellent job narrating and has a believable male voice which isn't always the case with narrators.

Funny and addictive

Lennox! What a character! ... The frogs she had to kiss (and tell! Great Blog! Brutal!)
Samantha Harris wove a fantastic story with a good backing of characters to support Lennox’s crazy/insecure/self deprecating one. Tightly woven friends and family and those frogs! Too funny!
I loved Heather Firth’s voice for this book she characterised perfectly and brought Lennox’s snark and crazy shining through!
A great listen I would definitely recommend this one, such a spirit lifter.

DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY ITS COVER!

This has been one of the greatest listens for me this year. Do not judge it by the cover! That is just in regards to the heroine's blog. It is so hilarious I was laughing out loud most of the time. Ellis is definitely the type of "frog" I'd kiss in search of Prince Charming!

Loved the story, brilliant narration

Heather Firth does such a great job with this story that I kinda forgot she was narrating, I could hear them all in my head and I got lost in the story.

I loved this story, I love the setup. The characters are great, I really felt for them and what was going on. Oh my how many bad dates does she have!!!! Lol. I got really sucked in to their world and didn't really want it to end. I want more time with them!

Really enjoyable!

Great narration... I loved the narrator, she brought this story alive. The story itself was sweet. nice enough and the characters where likeable. The blogging sections of the writing made the book slightly more interesting and gave the story a different twist.

Quirky, funny second chance romance

This is the first story I've listened to from this author and I would definitely listen to more of her work. I enjoyed this quirky rom com, Lennox and Ellis had a love-hate relationship and this is their second chance. I felt the first half of the story was a bit slow to get started and I wanted more of Lennox and Ellis but when it got going I loved their relationship and their hot hot chemistry. I also would've loved more of their story at the end as I felt it just got started when it ended. Heather did a great job narrating and this really helped to keep the story moving. #AudiobookObsession

She found her prince among frogs

Lennox Brooks has had bad luck with dating. It seems her choices in men turns out to be a Whole Lotta Frogs and no prince charming. When she starts a blog to just voice her frustrations with the entire dating scene people start to pay attention.

Ellis Walker is back in his hometown and the girl he fell in love with at a very young age is still here and available. It's ashamed she doesn't want anything to do with him, instead she is interested in his business partner. He knows he hurt Len years ago but she needs to let go of the past and let them move on to their HEA. She doesn't know the entire story and right now he isn't prepared to tell her.

Len and Ellis have a definite love/hate relationship and more frenemies until Len releases the pent up anger she has held for years and realizes Ellis Walker may just be her prince among frogs.

I loved this book, everything about it was good to me. It's funny, it has heart and great characters.

Heather Firth is such a good narrator. I love listening to her voice and she did all characters in this book and it was so enjoyable. I loved it from beginning to end and was sad when it was over. Great job!

so cute and funny!

I'm a huge fan of 2nd chance romance and this one really was wonderful to listen to. Heather Firth is a fantastic narrator! I recommend this story if you want a laugh out loud slow burn romance. I loved Lennox, she is so relatable! Totally stubborn and on a journey where her emotions are out of control. Ellis is lovable and his persistence is admirable. Secondary characters add to the fun- recommended beach read!

Cute and angsty story

My first Samantha Harris book.
The boy she crushed on in high school, who broke her heart and left without even a goodbye has returned and Lennox isn't very happy about it.
Ellis - the boy next door left who without saying anything and has returned home and has his sights set on Lennox.

Great banter, sexy fun angst and a little love triangle that will keep you listening without a break! I had this book playing for hours on end to see how this would all work out!

A great slow burn story that left with a huge smile on my face.

I loved the narration and Heather Firth WAS Lennox for me!
