lost me at no intermittent fasting

I've lost a total of 90 lbs over time and intermittent fasting is the only thing that consistently helped me... and no it wasn't muscle loss, believe me I've got plenty. I loved almost everything else, so much great information in there, but you know what, fasting had been a blessing for me. same for my younger sister. And fasting can increase stress hormones but if you're not doing it crazily you can do it right, it's a hormetic stress.. fasting is also linked strongly with longevity... not only that but eating "several small meals" a day made me huge. I gained 40 lbs. and I was working out and trying to maintain my weight and the pounds packed on. and I was eating healthy, so based personal experience and tons of other scientific based health books I've listen to/read, I'm going to have to disagree.. but like everything else you gotta decide what works best for you with all the info out there...

first 3 to 5 chapters made me want to pick my eyes

hard to get thru the first chapters as I felt we were being compared to a man. once I stuck with it, which I'm glad I did, I gained a lot of knowledge. so overall it's good, but wish there was less comparing and more educating from the get go.

Excellent material

I loved this book. As a female athlete I found this information very interesting and well organized. I am a bit of a science nerd so having everything explained kept me intrigued. I enjoyed this so much that I bought the book too. I have been taking notes as I plan to implement many of these strategies into my daily life. I cannot wait to test out all of her suggestions. Dr. Stacy Sims has opened a door for women that we haven’t seen. She is smart and honest. I recommend this book to not only athletic women but to all women along with any coach or trainer who works with women. This is a learning tool to understanding how a woman’s body not only differs from a man’s body but how to eat and exercise for a woman.

So much great and actionable information.

I am training to ride endurance with my horse, we focus a lot on equine nutrition but seem to ignore human. so I wanted to change that. I don't want to be the weak link in my partnership. Learned so much of what to do and not do. I have already recommended the book to other riders. We have rides in the heat, cold, altitude, we ride for up to 15 hours. learning how to fuel and feed my body before, during and after is invaluable.

TERRIBLE NARRATION

Ugh. I ended up reading the book the old fashioned way and not listening on Audible because the narrator was so robotic. No tone of voice change made this book unbearable to listen to. Don’t waste the credit. Buy the book instead. I loved the book itself. Lots of great info. I’m excited to have the information. Too bad the narration was horrible.

annoying slogan, excelent content

this was a super interesting read. science based approach with interesting examples. definately not a how to book or a "get healthy in 3 easy steps" sort of book. but have a lot of insight on how to be healthy and recover. and what proven science is showing.

Great information and easy to absorb

I’ve been a personal trainer and currently work in the medical field so to have this book explain things specifically for women is amazing. I’m sharing it with family, friends and colleagues to help all of us ladies train like we are suppose to without the mind screw of comparison to men’s studies. Thank you a million!
