This book is perfectly titled. It says exactly what it is: an excellent overview of the field of mindfulness and the science behind it. The lecturer is great and easy to listen to. The lectures are interesting and very helpful, thought-provoking, and jammed with interesting research.There are two things I thought could have been better. Great lectures
Really well put together. Slow to start but made sense to me as he went on as to why he explained things in this manner. I'm a newbie to mindfulness but after listening to this book plan on making it a part of my life. Great course! Best meditation introduction I have come across. Really appreciated the neuroscience insights. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in meditation but turned off by religious/spiritual associations.

This really explains why mindfulness works
I really enjoyed this lecture series. As a beginning meditator, I wanted to know more about mindfulness, but I also needed some guidance. This had both. He does a wonderful job of explaining so many aspects of the why and the how. He's also very warm and funny as a speaker. There are also some guided meditations at the end that were helpful.

Informative
The book was informative about Mindfulness. I liked that it offered mindful sessions that can be done by anyone. The books does both short and long sessions and encourages daily practice.

Scientific Based Meditation
I like something supported by science, proofs, facts and experimental results. It reinforce what I believe about meditation's benefits.
