It's still personal
I do like the characters, and I hope to see them change and grow. When the next books become available I will continue with the series. Spoiler Alert: The story still gets personal with the criminals focusing on the main characters and surrounding co-workers and family. And there was one twist that made me think "What?" and "Why?" instead of "Wow!"

I hope more installments are to follow. I'm enjoying this series. It's a police procedural with many twists and turns. The narrator did a fine job of bringing the characters to life. I recommend this book.

Great story. Perfect narration.
I love this series about DI Nicki Galena and her team. Henrietta Meire is the perfect match for narrator. I love the accents and she does a great job of distinguishing voices of all the characters, male and female. Looking forward to the next one.

The landscape
This was the first in the series where one of the killers was not focused on murdering Nikki or members of her team. I found the plot involving the ww2 airbase and the history of the catacoombes on the fens quite riveting. I am also getting more and more interested in the lives of the players. up until this book the cast has proved much more interesting than the solution to the crime/s. I am going to continue following this series.
