"Murder at the Mill by M. B. Shaw is a great sweeping adventure. Ideal for holiday reading." —M. C. Beaton, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author

A picture hides a thousand lies... And only Iris Grey can uncover the truth.

Iris Grey rents a quaint cottage in a picture-perfect Hampshire village, looking to escape from her crumbling marriage. She is drawn to the neighboring Wetherby family, and is commissioned to paint a portrait of Dominic Wetherby, a celebrated crime writer.

At the Wetherby's Christmas Eve party, the mulled wine is in full flow - but so are tensions and rivalries among the guests. On Christmas Day, the youngest member of the Wetherby family, Lorcan, finds a body in the water. A tragic accident? Or a deadly crime?

With the snow falling, Iris enters a world of village gossip, romantic intrigue, buried secrets, and murder.

The story went on too long and I thought there was too much going on. Too many storylines.

A little too long but the characters were interesting and complex

Excellent narration. Often times it's difficult to follow the characters, but this narrator is outstanding.

Good narrator and interesting complex story. Good as Agatha Christie. Twists and turns throughout. Perfect book to curl up in bed on a rainy day.

Well worth the read!

I’ve never heard so many product placements in an audiobook before and I found myself listening for them and being distracted from the actual story. I won’t even get into some of the truly dreadful similes!

Reads like a book of product placements....

Murder at the Mill is an entertaining and complex mystery. it starts off slow and introduces several characters. The beginning is a bit confusing because there are several points of view to follow. As the story continues, Iris Grey emerges as the dominate point of view and the story continues at a quicker pace. There are several plot twists and subplots in the story. Shaw does a good job of tying it all together and bring the story to a satisfying end. I enjoyed reading about Iris Grey and look forward to the next book.
