Publisher's summary

The Broken trilogy continues here....

Bullets fly during a dangerous mission, and Major Mark Lopez is critically injured....

A Blackstone soldier, Mark is transferred to the North Dakota hospital with the security clearance to treat members of the elite covert team.

The pretty new nurse assigned to his case knows her stuff, but Mark soon discovers she knows more than just how to save lives. Mia Harper knows the Blackstone Code.

Mia is a bit of gypsy and doesn’t engage much with people - but there’s something about her mysterious new patient....

After Mark recovers from surgery, he is discharged from the hospital with orders to rest; not that he does. Instead, he rushes to Mexico for the team’s next assignment. But when he returns to the hospital again and again with minor - and not-so-minor - injuries, Mia suspects he’s only coming to see her.

Romance ignites, and because Mia signed a nondisclosure agreement at the hospital, Mark is able to open up more with Mia than any other woman.

Some debts demand payment in either cash or blood....

When someone from Mark’s past comes to him for help, old secrets start to resurface, and more blood is shed. Worlds collide, and lies are exposed in an all-or-nothing underground poker game.

Mark must put his life on the line to keep Mia safe...and to finally learn the answer to the question that’s haunted him his whole life.

What really happened that night 25 years ago?

Worth the wait!

Continuing the stories of Shadows, had been hoping Honor would come out on Audible. Read it but this version brings it so much more to life. I love all the characters and their stories.

Mia and Mark

Wow I did not immediately make the connection to the previous series but once I did I was all grins because I loved that series. These two characters were destined to be together. She is a nurse and he is a soldier with a team that seems to go to the hospital a lot. This story got me from the beginning with a little boy who was always hungry. I loved this story and narration.

HONOR

I REALLY LOVED THIS STORY. IT WAS EXCITING AND REALLY KEPT ME ENTRANCED IN THE STORY. I DON'T NORMALLY PICK THIS KIND OF STORY BUT IT HOOKED ME FROM BEGINNING TO END. THE NARRATORS WERE BOTH EXCELLENT., AND THEY REALLY KEPT MY INTEREST PEEKED. OVERALL THIS STORY WAS A SAD ONE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE ALL THE HELL MARK HAD GONE THROUGH AS A CHILD. BUT THANK GOD HE MET LOVE OF HIS LIFE

Honor among men

Honor is the word, This team tackles (sometimes literally) the bad guys other won't or can't. The men will do whatever it takes despite the danger. During one of these situations, Mark ends up in the hospital and is well cared for by Nuse Mia. Mia isn't only doing her duty as a regular nurse, surgical nurse, she has a special patient besides Mark.

Mark's humor brightens those around him and belies his terrifying early years. His interest in Mia is new. He doesn't want a woman to have to continually say goodbye not knowing if he'll come home. Still, this is one woan he just can't resist. The team has a special bond, Accepting Mia into their circle is special.

The personal problems of these guys become the problem of them all and they share their time to solve it. The romance is steamy and sweet. Their relationship is what they both need, yet these two don't share their history easily. Can they come together and learn to share with the other,

I read this book out of order and had no problem getting the relationships of these wonderful characters. I have gone back to get the rest of the series and look forward to reading and listening to the others,

Read the Book, LOVED the Audiobook

I read Honor just after reading J.L. Drake’s Broken Trilogy. I loved the book but listening to the audiobook was a completely new experience. The voice of both narrators, the reading of the book, everything was perfect. I never knew how listening to a book could make you feel so many different emotions. I laughed, I cried, I sat in awe. The absolute perfection of J.L Drake’s writing brought to you in a whole new light. Like I’ve said about every single one of her books, you won’t be disappointed.

SHOULD HAVE BEEN NARRATED BY JOE ARDEN SOLELY

I love the Blackstone and Broken series. I also think Joe Arden is incredible as a narrator for both male and female roles. This book was good but would have been great if the female narrator could do the male parts without them sounding horrendous and comical in a very sad way.

military romance

I loved the story of Mia and Mark. She was a nurse at the hospital that Mark was taken to when he was injured in a secret op. They had huge chemistry from the start. They also both had big secrets that could threaten a happy life together. There is action and danger and a bit of sadness. I adored Grace Grant, and nobody does a damaged man/child, like Joe Arden! So good!!!
