Publisher's Summary

Do you have back, neck, or shoulder pain that keeps recurring or won't go away? Do you have to "baby" your back? Does back pain keep you from living a full life? If so, you may be suffering from TMS - (Tension Myositis Syndrome) - and you don't have to take it anymore!

Dr. John E. Sarno, author of the revolutionary book Mind Over Back Pain, is a medical pioneer whose program has helped patients overcome their back conditions- without drugs or dangerous surgery. Now, using his latest research into TMS, Dr. Sarno goes one step further. After identifying stress and other psychological factors in back pain, he demonstrates how many of his patients have then gone on to heal themselves without exercise or other physical therapy.

Discover why self-motivated and successful people are prone to TMS, how anxiety and repressed anger trigger muscle spasms, how people "train themselves" to experience back pain, and how you may get relief from back pain within two to six weeks by recognizing TMS and its causes.

I found the book to be very helpful. I have been suffering from unexplainable back pain and was very very surprised by how it worked and helped.

Definitely a must read for anyone who suffers from any pain. You really have nothing to loose by listening and giving it at least a try.

    "Really resonated."

Great stories. His work applies to me and I'm actually looking forward to being present with my repressed anger and stop feeling physical pain. A couple times I got lost into the technically of it and I wish there was more of a to do list at the end. And I got that it's actually quite simple. Feel your feelings. I will listen to his other books as well. Very grateful for this book and his work. Thanks.

    "A True Game-Changer!!!"

This book is so timely! ice dealt with back pain for over 18 years and have never had significant relief. This mind-body TMS approach makes so much sense. I'm all in. Thank you.

"Well written and easy to follow."

This book is relevant for many of us who suffer with TMS. John Sarno relates his success in helping to free people from their back and other TMD pain by addressing the actual cause of it.

    "Skeptical, but not anymore"

I started having chronic minor back pain and occasional excruciating back pain starting at about age 38. I pursued every avenue except surgery, but continued to have issues. After having another acute episode and hearing Howard Stern recommend Dr Sarno's books on multiple occasions, I finally decided to listen to his work. I wish I would have done so sooner. All of my education is in exercise physiology and my wife is a physical therapist so I was extremely skeptical. However, almost everything Sarno talks about makes sense. I religiously listen to parts of the book every day, and my back pain issues are virtually gone. I must admit I still have a lot of work to do. If you have constant, nagging back pain, I highly recommend this book.

"Thank you Doc I'm feeling better"

I really like listening to Dr. Sarno himself. I'm challenged by pain right now and I acknowledge that repressed rage in underneath it. As I listen I'm feeling better.
