Publisher's summary

I sold my soul for a hamburger. And I have no regrets.

When a girl is trapped indefinitely in an elevator with a smoking hot burger and an empty stomach, even the strongest of women will crumble.

The story goes like this: Bradley Hamilton, former professional hockey player and the most frustrating human alive, offered me half of his hamburger in exchange for a date. I took him up on the offer - while under duress - and now I'm stuck with the consequences. Specifically, the scorching kiss that has me drooling for more.

However, there's one whopper of a problem. This man has been a thorn in my side for the last 20 years - ever since he moved next door and became my older brother's best friend. We've gone head to head for years, and now, he's trying to buy out my restaurant in order to plop one of his big fat gyms there instead.

I refuse to let him ruin my business. Unfortunately, Bradley Hamilton is like an order of fries: you just can't have one. It appears our lips are addicted to kissing. He's alarmingly handsome. Deliciously confident. And worst of all? Underneath that salty exterior he's starting to show signs of sweet.

Brad Hamilton is my guilty pleasure, my cheat meal, my greatest craving. Which is why he'll be one habit that's hard to kick.

Contains mature themes.

Can't do it

I cannot listen to this narrator, she leaves every sentence hanging and it is driving me nuts.

Okay, at best.

I listen/read a lot of romance novels and this just didn't quite do it for me. The story is okay, at best. The main character, Lexie is somewhat of a boring character. Lexie often comes across as mean to Bradly and he seems like such a doormat. The anticipation of Lexie making Bradly jump through hoops was interested at first but then became VERY BORING. At one point I just wanted Bradly to just tell Lexie to make the jump or he is out. I definitely give this a 2 *yawn* review.

boy next door

BFF's Lucas, Brad and Lexie have a falling out only to reconnect 3 years later.

This story was a bit of a struggle for me to get through. For me it felt more drawn out than it needed to be and some of the characters in this story were too shallow in personality.

Not great

Just couldn’t get into the story, didn’t like the characters and their juvenile banter. Just no.

Dragged on far longer than needed

The story started out strong then by chapter 14 it started to feel like it was over kill in the round about circling of I hate you no I love you back and forth that the hero and heroine had. Lots of miscommunication and assumptions made on the heroines part and that drove me nuts. Half way through chapter 18 I had enough and jumped to chapter 29 and from there was able to basically fill in a lot of the back and forth I’d skipped including the sexy scene because I didn’t have the patience for this dragged on story.

The narrators did okay. I’ll give them another shot and I gave this author another look because I enjoyed her Deliver Girl book but I’ve never listened to a book at speed 2.0 and then skipped chapters to get to the point.

If you like dragged out love stories and lots of teenage adult romance angst then this book might be for you. If not I’d skip it. Try a different book by the author.
