I kept thinking it would get better.

I like the idea of the book, but had a difficult time bonding with the heroine. She said one thing but was always doing the opposite. It seams like every other paragraph has some kind of verbal sexual byplay. IMO it got to be a bit much. I'm about half way through the book so it might get better

Edited to add: The sexual byplay turned into some explicit sexual scenes. If that offends you then don't get this book.

The story is not developed and the reading the story has a horrible whiney voice

I chose this book based on a recommendation from Amazon, and it is similar, if not the new Anita Blake. No way. The story needs to be developed. The characters are flat. And for a girl who does not jump in bed with people, she does in this book. Do not get me wrong, I like a good sex scene, but just like the rest of the book, it barely covered the scene with no depth. Refrain from wasting your time listening to this book. Wait to find it at a second-hand store for a read on the airplane where people are talking, and you can still understand everything.
I could not even finish it.
