I’m starting over.

Moving to a new town to start college, where I can try to be normal. Or at least pretend I am.

I’m willing to fake it, because I’m tired of trying to get better. Tired of spilling my guts to doctors and therapists to understand why I’ve heard voices since I was a child.

The meds are working...for now, but if they stop, I’ll never tell. I just want to live my life, and if that means ignoring why so many people think I’m crazy, so be it.

She’s the most silent storm I’ve ever witnessed.

Waylynn is as pretty as a picture, curvy, with hazel eyes that always seem to evade everyone’s gaze.

She’s been avoiding me since our first encounter, but fate intervenes and brings her right back to me...and my brother.

Now I need to know more.

Seeing Sound is the first book of the Tasting Madness series. This is a reverse-harem novel with adult themes and situations.

Awesome character development, New and interesting plot, what could make this awesome story even better? Say it with me... Jacob Morgan. Love the narration it helps bring emotion and almost a sense of realizem to the characters. Can't wait for book two cause I am not gonna lie one of out male leads deserves a swift junk punch and I hope he gets it 😉

Book 1 in this story The author Albany Walker wrote a story that is heart gripping. She wrote a story that is a slow burn love story with the lust and steam needed to make it addictive Like how there was an attraction between Ozz ( the hero ) and Waylynn ( the heroine) and Ozz brother. this story is entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting . The angst that Waylynn has with the voices she hears she’s afraid to trust . All I can say is what a cliffhanger . It’s a must get

The performance of Vanessa Moyan and Jacob Morgan is out of this world. They did the time for each character fantastic

NARRATION:
Vanessa Moyen is always a favourite of mine, she has such a great voice and reads perfectly in my opinion. The voices she uses for Waylynn vs other females is easy to distinguish.

Jacob Morgan was phenomenol. Majority of male narrators tend to read line by line, always having an unneeded pause between each sentence. Jacob narrates this in a smooth manner that allows for much more immersion. The voices he uses for each guy is somewhat similar so if you're not listening closely, you might mistake who is speaking.

For the first time, I experienced a listing of triggers at the start of the audiobook. It was unexpected because they don't list them in the audio versions and it was a great touch since most people likely won't have a physical/electronic copy of the book to reference unless they're in love with it already.

I'm so excited for people to hear the audio of this book, allowing for a larger group of people to fall in love with this series the way I have.

STORY:
If I could give this higher than 5*'s, I would because this book is a 10 among 5's. The whole book just drew me in, I was living in this world, feeling what Waylynn feels and dreading what kind of ending Albany Walker was going to leave us with. I had times where I forgot that I wasn't right there with these characters, living in their world. I was in a constant state of bliss.

Waylynn has demons. They're inside her head speaking to her and she's been living her whole life feeling judged, worrying she's 'crazy' and hoping people don't find out that the medications just might not be working now because she doesn't want to be an inpatient anymore. Now, she's got a house near her college by herself and is going to class and doing things on her own.

Memphis and Oswald Gravlin are perfection. Brothers, opposites but so similar. Memphis is the grumpy, distant TA. Oswald (Oz) is the happy go lucky footballer. Then there's Bates. Best friends with the brothers, a cello player at night, electrician during the day. Unfortunately, he wasn't in quite enough of the story. I hope to see more of him in Touching Oblivion.

Seeing Waylynn progress through the book was awkward to say the least, and not in a bad way. She was always trying to fit in, trying to please people and not fully knowing what to do. She definitely misses out on some jokes made and isn't quite in the same position socially as many other people because she never really got a chance to just live her life. Even with Memphis and Oswald, she is hiding and uncomfortable, afraid to say or do the wrong thing. They're slowly building her up and allowing her to blossom and it's amazing just how great they are with her. Of course, Memphis has his moments and you wonder, 'why did you say that?!'.

The characters felt so fleshed out and complex that I just fell into the book headfirst. If I could be in love with written characters, it would be them, and getting to the end of Seeing Sound would be like getting your heart broken. Waylynn was just so awkward that she was such a believable character and knowing what was going on inside her head made you want to comfort her the whole way. Her anxiety seems to drive her decisions sometimes. No, she's not some kickbutt character but she somehow feels more real than any other FMC. As for the guys, Memphis, Oswald and Bates sucked you in with every word and action. You never really knew what would be said or done but my heart felt so light throughout this.

I really couldn't explain how this book made me feel while reading it other than using the word 'Love'. Love for these characters, love for the story and love for the brilliance that is Albany Walker.

Reading this book was amazing. So when I found out Seeing Sound was coming out in audio I knew I needed to hear it.

This story is just fantastic. Made even more so by the brilliant duet narration by Jacob Morgan and Vanessa Moyen. They really bring these characters to life. Plus Jacob’s voice is 🥵.

I absolutely love Waylynn and her guys. I can’t wait for more and I’m counting down for book 2.
