Publisher's Summary

Momma's Baby Daddy's Maybe is an Essence best seller by popular author Jamise L. Dames. This steamy tale revolves around the lives of the three Jacobs siblings: wild Kennedy, corporate Simone, and handsome Derrick.

Kennedy has finally found just what she's been looking for, a successful, loving man to spend the rest of her life with. But when she suspects him of cheating, she turns to the father of her baby for comfort. Older sister Simone decides to let her boyfriend move in, only to find that she's pregnant. Unfortunately, she also discovers that her man is mentally and physically abusive. But brother Derrick is carrying the heaviest secret of all, avoiding relationships, afraid to expose the reason behind his coldness. Although they each appear to be content, the three siblings are about to confront dark truths that will bring them closer than ever before.

The Jacobs' emotional exploits combined with an intense narration by Patricia R. Floyd will have listeners on the edge of their seats.

Disappointing

This could have been a great story, but sadly it was a little to unrealistic, especially the ending. The reader, was articulate and clear, but the sound quality was terrible. You can hear the reader swallowing and noises that sounded like chewing. I've listened to 16 audiobook from this site and I have not encountered that problem with the others.

Great listen if you can block out the swallowing!

This was a wonderful book with twists and turns that caused your emotions to go on a rollercoaster ride. The only complaint I have is as another reviewer has written ... once you get past the reader and her swallowing, it is a very enjoyable listen. Unfortunately, the swallowing sounds continue from beginning to end so you will have to brace yourself if this is something that makes your flesh crawl! So.. an enjoyable but uncomfortable listen.

No Way, Hun

The portrayal of these black girls angered me. These girls are everything a black writer should not make her girls: loud, obnoxious, obsessed about the fact that they are black, dirty-mouthed, promiscuous, and uncaring mothers. This is the nightmare stereotype that people have fought so hard to throw away. The things these girls do are petty, self-serving, and just plain stupid sometimes. I couldn't finish the book.

The Bad Reader

This book may be good however the reader is terrible. She sounds as if she is eating while reading. I was unable to listen past the first 3 chapters.

Not Recommended

After reading other reviews, I had high expectations that were not realized. The storyline was unreal, the love scenes were nothing but soft porn, and the writing was full of trite sayings and otherwise boring descriptions. The author had a good idea that could have been turned into a good story with a more gifted writer. Because I always commit myself to completing a book, I suffered through it; however, I do not recommend this audible book.

Keeps you going until the end

This is one book I would recommend to my friends. Once you get past the reader and her swallowing (yes you can hear it as she reads) you will want to keep listening and not want to be interrupted until you have finished the book. The characters in this book definately don't do what you expect. You will laugh as well as cry when you listen to this book. Great work of art.

A great listen!

The unexpected turn of events were captivating. I will definately be looking for more from this author. I usually only listen during my commute, but finished this one in one day.

Nice Read

The books story line was cool. It caught my attention and kept it. The only downfall was the narrator. Hearing her swallow and spit in her mouth was very disruptive. She needed to have drank some water to keep her mouth moist.
