Publisher's Summary

Reverend Simon Jackson has always felt destined to lead and he's done a good job of it, transforming his small Houston church into one of the most respected and renowned in the region. But while the good Reverend's been busy tending his flock, his family's gone astray. His 19-year-old daughter, Rachel, gives new meaning to "baby mama drama." Crazy in love with her son's father, she's wreaking havoc on the man's life, even though he's about to marry another woman. David, Simon's oldest at 27, has been spiraling downward ever since a knee injury ended a promising football career. These days he's seeking solace in drugs - even feeding his habit by stealing church offerings.

Blessedly, 23-year-old Jonathan, a college graduate and the apple of Simon's eye, is poised to take his father's side as associate pastor - or so everyone thinks. Loretta has been a devoted wife to Simon, but she's beginning to realize that enabling him to give more to the church than to his children was her biggest mistake. As things begin to fall apart and secrets are revealed, will Loretta be able to help her husband reunite their tattered family before it's too late?

I loved it!!!

I started out listening about Rachael and Jasmine in the "First Lady" Series. It's good to finally hear Rachael's story. It really keeps you going. At some point you want to smack every character in the book... which is what we want to do with our own families at time. But this is a good series. I know how it ends because I've listened to the First Lady series, but I'm enjoying listening to the process of how they developed getting there. There are a few errors ( I believe the authors were getting started with these books) like Rachael was called 19 then she was called 15... Other than that. I liked the book.

We cant Judge

I truly enjoyed this book.It was well written and well narrated. This book was very enlightening. We mustn't judge noone. The minister was more loving to his church instead of his family. It made them very bitter toward their Dad.
He could see it but He did not want to do anything about it until it was out of control. This is a very great read .It helps you in every day life.

Who do you place firt in your life?

I enjoyed this book. It set the tone for a verse in the bible. What would it prophet a man ...loose your soul. He Soloman gave his all to the church and pretty much lost his whole family including his beloved and devoted.

Judge and be not judged! The Pastor counsels members in the church but grew intolerable for his own children. He couldn't see the but the congregation and board members saw his actions were unacceptable but the 134 members woke him up.

Let ye without sin cast the first stone

Everyone has a right to live the way they please. No one has to answer for his/her life but themselves. This family is full of drama and lessons learned. I hate when people wait till its too late like when someone dies to make anew. Luckily when the glue of this family died they had strength and a new backbone to bring them back. This book is amazing and I cant wait to star on book two!

A wonderful story on forgiveness

I loved the entire story and was so happy with how it turned out for Pastor Jackson. That is why I say "Jesus first, family second, and the rest comes easy!
