Torture to listen to.

I was looking forward to this series. I love the mail order bride story line and the timeline. But this was so hard to listen to. The narrators were not well done. Voices like children when they tried to do a lady and I don't even know where to begin with the accents. Story we so predictable and corny. Couldn't make it to the end. I listen to them in the car with my husband and he paid me to stop this one.

Loved These Stories

I was given this set of books in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. I love mail order brides books and this set delivered. I love that the sheriff took the plunge first to let the citizens know it was ok. The doctor's story was even better. I am not sure about the role the two villains played in each of these stories. Shadow's role left a lot to be desired. He was not responsible for the way his father treated him but after he was grown he became responsible for his actions. I know some stories lend themselves to having villains included just not so much with these.

Story okay

The story was okay. However, the narration was not. The characters needed a better representation.

Scooby-doo I found you 🤣

Way to many characters for one voice , some of them sounded like they smoked one too many joints and never graduated past the 3rd grade. It was painful to listen.

Good story

I enjoyed the story in this book. Love the historical time and descriptions. The narrator was not great at doing character voices though, but was okay as far as a storyteller. I love Linda Bridey books and love the "mail order bride" series

Not the right narrator for this book

I WANTED to love this. I really did. The story was pretty good but I could not tolerate listening to the narrator after three chapters. Will look for it in print or as an eBook.
